Brake Componies?
I am looking for brake pads for my brother's 87 Civic (ITB/H5) for his up coming school. Only problem is Hawk only carries the HPS pads for this year civic. And as far as I can find EBC, Axxis, and Raybestos only make street pads for this years Civic.
We were hoping for like a HP+ and Blue
So what are other brake companies are there?
Thanks

Did you check out carbotech brake pads? http://www.ctbrakes.com/pads/honda.html
Not true. They are just not ready-made/easily accessible.
Check out Porterfield Brakes' website. They are a distributor for Raybestos race compounds. They can custom-cut pads to pretty much any padshape you need. A lot of IT* racers like the ST-43 compound up front for FWD cars. For my Integra, they run about $215/set for front pads, but tend to last longer than most other pads so the expense is really not that bad.

cobalt friction also makes pads http://www.cobaltfriction.com
just go to the D273, as that is the pad you want. Every manufacture, EXCEPT hawk, uses these part numbers.

Cobalt compound question
CSR = Hawk HP+
XR3 = Hawk Blue
XR2 = Hawk Black
Would this be about the comparison?

If you're looking for school/practice pads the Yellows have a higher heat range than Hawk HP+, and at less than $100 they're cheaper than any race compound from Cobalt, Carbotech, PF, Raybestos, etc. If you don't want to dump a lot of money for school pads...
I was just inquiring about how the new line up, XR, compares to the old line up, Spec's, and they don't compare well. They are truly a different type of pad.
Most pads need to be bedded in, not cobalts.
Most pads need to get up to operating temp range not cobalts, they work great from the first time you step on the peddel coming out of pit lane.
On my car in H4 trim I ran spec Cs which were very compareable to the blues, I went with the XR3s. But other people who used spec VRs (H4 integra's) which was the most pad you could get fromcobalt now use the XR3.
I'd give cobalt a call and chat with them they should be able to explain things to you in much better detail, if you get Tommy tell him tackle box sent ya..
Is your car an ef hatch by chance? How much for the xr3's? Thanks.
No my car is a 93 civic, no long H4 spec.
I'm not a retailer of anything, but the prices are on the cobalt website.
I did have a bunch of pads, look in the race parts FS thread, and see if I have anything for your application.
If not order them through cobalt.
