Icon2 ipod connections

Hey everyone... Newbie here, great forum.

I recently purchased a 2006 Accord EX V6 with XM and it came installed with a tape deck under the comfort controls where the storage area would be. I am looking to install an ipod interface - something similar to the USA Spec PA15HON.

First, does anyone have any suggestions on ipod interfaces?
Second, if I take out the tape deck, what can I put in its place?

Thanks for the feedback...

You can do what this guy did:

or if you want to replace the radio, see this thread:

Looks like this installation doesn't allow for the ipod to charge. I know there are some out there that have more features.

I have a 2010 TL that has the ability to play iPod via USB, aux jack and Bluetooth.

I have used all three now, and there is a discernible difference between the Bluetooth (great!), USB (great!) and aux jack (just good).

I'm just mentioning that so that if you have a choice of finding a way of using USB + proprietary Apple plug, you should choose that, IMHO.

I'm an old guy who is hardly an audiophile, but I can tell the difference.

I think honda accessories has the interface you might need.

I have the USA Spec for my Chevy Trailblazer and it's awesome!
Good product - key futures for why I bought it were the use of the iPod connector interface, charges the iPod, and allows the radio controls to control the iPod. There is also a set of RCA connectors if I ever choose to hook up something with an AUX jack (use an AUX to RCA cable) like a portable DVD player, PSP, DS,.. whatever.
The cable was long enough to pull into the CD storage console in the arm rest. I can leave the iPod out of sight in there.

I purchased the Blitzsafe cable. Easy install, charges ipod, and plays it through usb. Plugs right into the back of your unit

USA-SPEC is great...I have had it for my 07 accord with XM for 2 years, works wonderfully. What I like about the USA-SPEC is it gives you the ipod connector and has an extra set of L+R rca inputs so you can hook up a 3.5mm cable to connect other brand MP3 players (Zune, Zen, SanDisk, etc...)

Google enfigcarstereo, he sells the kit with every thing you need.
