Anyone ever stripped their CRX? got some questions
I am stripping my CRX to be painted and was wondering if there is a better way to pull off the side moldings and stuff. I am breaking so may clips and little stuff it's nuts. any tips would be helpful. Thanks
If you have your interior panels off. You can pop the clips off that way. But other than that, I think everyone breaks them. You can always pick some replacments up at the dealer, or a junkyard.
thats what I figured. I didn't think there was any easy way to get them off considering some you cant even get to from the inside
Thanks
Thanks
umfor interiors get a clip removing tool.kind alooks like a bent prying screwdriver.you can get your moulding clips of once you get the interior panles out of the way.i stripped my hatch down to nothing when i had it painted.it saved me money and a lot of hassle .it was well worth it.i had them spray the entire car.inside and out.good luck with your project
I have the interior out, but those clips are still a bitch to get out. Thanks for the info. Got any pics of your hatch? My 92 Si is next on the chopping block

Once you get the actual moulding off, just turn the clip sideways in the hole and it pulls right out. Notice the hole is rectangular. Once the clip is turned the hole is big enough to just pull it out. Hope that helps. Another thing, you might want to take out all the glass. The moulding is probably really worn by now and its really hard to mask perfectly, so they usually err by painting onto your moulding slightly. This means you cannot replace them without ruining the edge there. Just a tip.
Has anyone ever taken out the rear side glass in a CRX. i took the molding of from around it and don't know really where to go from there.
