Default My 2.4 h series build

im building a 90x95mm bottom end and the cr is roughly around 14to1. its going in my rhd h2b eg. i have some pictures to put up of the pistons an rods.i there are still some things that im undecided on pretty much the intake manifold and throttle body. im going to have the head ported by steve an cccylinderheads or rlz . however it will be getting cnc ported with 1mm bigger valves on the intake side. the engine that was in the car befor did make around 250whp with a shitty port job and stock bottom end. i will try to update as much as i can with pictures. i should have the block back this week ive been waiting for 6 weeks on the pistons to get here so i can get the final bore. i have no pictures of the disassembley because i think eveyone know what thoes steps look like. and any input will be apreciated. and sadly this what a budget build but i guess that this point there is not budget. i have no real goals other then making around 290+whp

Nice build 2.4 is the way to go. Love your rod and piston combo...

How many cc's are those domes and what is the compression height?

I ended up going with a set of H22 SA rods and 29mm CH .6cc Wiseco pistons w/a 95mm stroke for my F22 build.

Sweet, pretty much the same piston I have. Minus 13.4cc's... That should put you around 14.5:1 if not closer to 15:1. This is definitely not going to be a regular pump gas street build that's for sure.

What cams are you running/going to run?

it will make the peak numbers but will cost you a couple tenths on the track.

if your gonna keep that manifold, atleast cut the runners down to 7" length.

nice build....
Steve just got done with my +1mm oversized valve head...great work...
I would try a set of kinsler's on that set up or a custom intake...

The magnus made really good numbers on my 97mm89mm 11.1cr motor
but broke 2 times

its all in runner length and plenum size.

judging from your build and goals, i would try to stick w/ a 7" runner and decent sized plenum.

the stock manifold has perfect length runners and an adjustable plenum so why not take advantage of it?

gut the iab plate and upper and lower grids, weld up the iac, use a solid tb gasket to block off the fitv, and start porting the runners and lower plenum area.

bolt the upper half directly onto the lower half and then add in the spacer on the dyno to adjust plenum size. bring a couple of them if you want

thats gonna be the safest bet and the cheapest. your not gonna make any big gains over that w/ any other intake setup.

as for pre tb intake, the shortest most direct coldest air inlet is the best for the track. thats why i went through the hood.

you could use 4" tube and go out the headlight or use a couple 90*s of the tb and come out the hood haha that would be short, but those bends will hurt velocity.

ok im going to listen to you.not that i didnt belive u.i jsut have have this thought in my head that i need a new manifold. i was looking at your manifold so just open the up half up an cut all the **** out of the middle plate an then just open the bottem up like your is? what szie tb should i use.and what im getting from what else your saying with the tb intake since i have a qsd h2b kit an a 3.5 inch hood gap what if i made a airbox to grab the air form the side of the hood opening?

if your porting that stock h22 manifold how do you know how much material to remove in the runners and the plennum area to gain air flow? how much cfm can a stock manifold flow?

have no idea how much they flow

i didnt hog it out much, mostly just removed the casting lines in hopes of reducing turbulance.

i think its safe to say it flows enough for what hes doing

I can't answer that because I'm back at school and dont have any of the numbers in front of me.

Austin brought the bearings over this weekend so I got to assembling the shortblock (the other pic was me holding the piston in place at "tdc", i was bored?), anywho it went together great, turns over very, very well. Austin has bugged me to update this thread with pics so here we go:

calico coated ACL bearings, Rods came out to .0015", mains were .0016" and .0018" on the 3rd (the exact numbers are also at home, those are to my best recollection)

rods and pistons assembled

mmmmmmmmmmm shiny

The head and IM will be sent out for porting very soon, then to do the V2V and P2V, then to make mad hp

I'm very excited about seeing this thing run, it's nice to see someone in my area using quality parts and displaying no bitchassness for a change.
