Default No Secondary 02 sensor question for 99 OBD2 teg.

My friends car got stolen and I am trying to help him get it back together as cheap as possible. The last thing left was getting an exhaust back on. They stole the cat and o2 sensor. I made a test pipe but he does not want to spend 170 for a secondary o2 sensor. Is there a way to trick the ecu into thinking there is a second o2 sensor so he does not get a CEL? I tried to search but must not be using the correct terms. Any help would be great.

Thanks

You can get an O2 Sensor for much less than $170, shop around a little bit. They used to make a simulator, but I haven't heard anything about them in a long time.

If you are doing this for inspection, you will need a cat and second O2 sensor in PA, with no CEL's.

The car should run okay without the secondary o2 hooked up though. It's only job is to check the efficiency of the cat.

you need a chipped ecu to cross it off. i believe that is the only way in eliminating the o2 sensor

the secondary o2 still won't work on a test pipe unless you do the extension trick. i think i paid something like 125 for an ngk secondary. a jdm ecu will bypass the second o2 but they also won't read on a usdm scan tool. does your emissions station plug into the computer when you go through?
