b20b swap + intermittent trouble :(
Hi, my friend bought an acura integra 1990 ( already swapped ) last summer, since everything was fine. Spec: b20b engine mount on b18 tranny, 2 or 3 months ago the car didnt wanted to fire up. so he replaced his distributor and since he got a crank shaft sensor error sometimes. i read that b20b doesnt have a crank shaft position sensor and im not sure i understand well how the swap has been done. so lets say i take a ride with the car, and for no reason the check engine light goes on.. i pulled out the code to be crank shaft position sensor, and it does like it missfire and then i cant pass 3,5k at rpm ... if i dont push the gas pedal the engine goes off, then i got to wait about 1 or 2 mins to restart it and the engine will be ok for a little while untill it the check engine light goes on again. i already opened the distributor and i cleaned the wire connection there and it solve the problem for a little while but the trouble has restarted. the only way ive found to "bypass" that problem is to floor the gas pedal and put the ignition to ACC then turn it back really quick to ON so the engine rev over the 3,5k rpm limit and the engine run well untill that problem goes on again !!
what should i do / check ? i have the car for the week and id like to solve that problem. Thanks alot !!
