Best way to mount Mugen Lip on 1994 accord
I bought a used mugen lip and just got done sanding and painting ect ect. But i am curious on the best way to mount it, there is no real plastic on the lip to bolt it on to the bumper minus the plastic to mount in the middle. There are drill holes on the left and right corner bumper as if the previous owner drilled the sides into the bumper? Is this the correct way? All advice or pointers are welcome..
You'll need to clarify, if you have a legitimate Mugen lip it was designed for 96/97 only. If you have a "Mugen"-styled one from eBay you just can do whatever you want.
The lip I have (mugen style form ebay) is polyurethane and had taps that poked out and fit in each of the slots for the oem bolts/lip. All I had to do was to drill the holes for the bolts so they would go through the lip.
You should drill/bolt it at the two points just inside the fenderwell side of the lip (at the ends). In the middle where the lower gril section is, you can drill two holes there or get some automotive mounting tape from an auto parts store and run it along the entire edge of the lip that touches the bumper. I suggest actually doing both; drill/bolt to screws in the lower grill area as well as running mounting tape. It will be much sturdier. That's also what I did when I had my Accord.
