Default IM Question

Ok so I have a p72-2 head but the IM is an ls IM, I know this because there isn't that bend. My question is can I switch to a Sk2 IM for GS-R and if I can, what year do I buy it for?

The -2 is the casting number when the head was orginally manufactured. Honda uses multiple castings -1, -2, -3, -4 and so forth.
