I used to have gsr p72 ecu on my b18c itr and it's workin fine then out of nowhere check engine light went on then I put a jdm b18c p72 ecu then check engine light was off just wondering if anyone knows the differrence between gsr p72 and itr p72 ecu?

 

did you check to see what the CEL light came on for..?? maybe something went bad....?? and once you changed out to your new ecu.. it might take a while for the code to detect and come back on...

 

After I changed my ecu I drove it for like 20miles and the check engine light still didn't went on I'm thinkin that is there any thing that the gsr ecu is detecting that the itr ecu is not looking for or detecting?

 

Also is there any shop or place that can read the code for me to know why the check engine light went on?

 

well a gsr motor has secondary butterflies in the intake manifold. your itr motor doesnt. check engine light from that perhaps. jdm p72 is pretty much same thing. p73 is a type R ecu and you need that. another thing you can do is run a chipped p28 with type r basemap.
