do NOT cut your springs.. bad idea
you should have checked the drop before you bought them.. they are not supposed to be super low.. you should have gone with at least the ProKit, or Skunk2 or Tein..
Get different springs.. DONT cut them... super party foul... look at what you buy next time.. lol
Your car not starting after being running for 5 minutes sounds exactly like your fuel main relay.. check that first.. very common honda problem

Sell the springs, use that money and fix the starting problem.

Agreed, if you dont understand why it's bad to cut the springs, then you shouldnt even try. You have to PAY TO PLAY. Real coils, coilover sleeves, or lower springs. Cutting springs is ridiculously unintelligent. Prepare for unstable driving conditions.
sorry to be off topic to the op but why is it exactly bad to cut springs? because i've been reading what you guys said..and yes my friends car is bumpy as f*ck and he cut his springs also for 300-350$ how are the Ground Control Coils Sleeves w/ KONI SHOCKS.?
x2 on not cutting springs
x2 on not cutting springs
i have cut springs and let me tell you from experience that its not good, first off, anytime any1 looks at em they say ewww wtf is that!, second, my ride sux ***** on bumps potholes, and freeway, and 3 who ever cut them, did a shitty job cutting them as well, un even as hell if you dont know what your doing i'd advise against it, i'd say sell those springs and put the money toward some adjustables maybe? or a lower drop
how are the Ground Control Coils Sleeves w/ KONI SHOCKS.?
okay thanks! i want something stiff yet not all the time performance, but if it gives good performance than i'm all in aha.. i was thinkin getting the Ground Controls off ebay for 281$ plus shipping! to roll on for more of a drop or just save up for what i originally wanted the buddy clubs coilovers
I've never been in a car with cut springs that was pleasant to ride in/drive and they seem to always sit uneven. Sell the springs you have right now and use that money to get something that suits your taste without cutting.
Keep those springs and buy some Koni yellows if you want to go lower, thats what I did. I have progress springs and they arent low enough and Koni yellows have an adjustable height perch that allows you to lower your car without getting new springs. Trust me youll like it!
The reason you never cut springs is because you will have a unknown spring rate. Springs are progressive in tension meaning as the spring get compressed the amount of force the coil applies increases. By cutting the spring even with measuring you are at a unknown and infinite spring rate. Which cause horrible handling, extremely bumpy ride, damage to your suspension, and dangerous.
I agree with with everybody either go get some Koni yellows or sell those spring and get new ones.

While I do not advise chopping stock springs to use on stock shocks, it is possible to trim a small amount from a spring to make it a bit stiffer. I've seen it done on ERS springs to fine-tune the spring rate. As long as you have quality dampers that can handle the rate and ride height, there won't be any problems in that regard. What CAN be a problem is the spring not seating properly after it's cut. Many springs have a tapered, flat end to seat against the upper or lower perches, and if you lose that, the spring could become unseated and dangerous.
Also, if you have a progressive-rate spring with several "dead" coils at one end when loaded (4 or 5 coils touching, keeps spring from coming unseated when it's unloaded), you can cut off 1 or 2 coils from that with ZERO effect on spring rate. The coils are already at an infinite spring rate when they're touching, so losing a coil or two won't change that infinite spring rate for that portion of the spring. Ride height will be reduced a bit, by approximately the thickness of the coil wire times the wheel motion ratio (around 1.5 front and 1.3 rear on EG/DC chassis).
I trimmed dead coils off of the rear lowering springs of my old car because it looked way too raked with the lowering springs alone. Trimming the rear springs helped even the car out, and I had no issues whatsoever.

Get some h&r race springs good 2.5 in drop and the ride is still better than some newer cars i've rode in. This is exactly why I didn't buy the eibach springs and if you do get h&r make sure they are race not sport

This is what can happen if you heat/cut your springs. If you're going to modify a car, you better be prepared to pay for quality parts. A car is only as cheap as the owner.
