go to your nearest court house and pick up a Small Claims packet or just ask for a (plaintiff sheet ) then just fill out the info that it asks. It will ask you the persons name, address, so I dont know if you have that. After you are done filling it out, you take it back to the small claims window and pay the filing fee which is 23bux.When its filed they will give you a court date. Then......someone besides you need to have a copy served to the defendant so he knows when to come to court. Just let the Sheriff s do it , they charge 25 bux.Then.....if he doesnt show up its a default which you win what ever u sued him for.If you have anyother q's just give me an IM or post, good luck

I will try the small claims court within the next few weeks. I got his cell phone number, and with that hopefully the cops or someone can get his personal info.

if he didnt give you some sort of reciept or note or sale of purchase i think you might have alot of trouble. i would call the cops first and make a report (this never worked for me ********!) then a detective will be put on the case and they will, if it was in the local area or in thier jurisdiction they will trace the call and find a name do a criminal hist. check and go from their. other than that dont ever give cash. dude everybody gets scammed these days i did for 2600 for a b18c but i got most back because i have friends at the bank. giid luck. do a search yourself if you know the # is att or spint or whatever call them and talk to them?

 

He was trustworthy before when I bought some other parts off of him. After this incident I will think twice about buying from private sellers again. Isn't it illegal for companies to give out personal information to people?

Not only that, but you didn't even get a written receipt.

Holy **** you're stupid.

I'm sorry to say, but kiss that $1400 goodbye bro. With out some sort of physical evidence that you gave this person $1400, the cops are just going to laugh at you and tell you sorry.

In court it would be your word against his, and you bear the burden of proof.


Think of it as a learning experience, and don't do it again. Unless you like giving away money, and in that case, come my way.

Yea Ray, without any evidence im not sure how you're going to pull this off but its worth trying!! $1,400 is more than some of us have in our bank accounts as we speak. Try using the receipt from your withdrawl of the $1400 from your bank account if thats what you did, I dont know if it will help but again, its worth trying. Good luck man!!
