Default Auto 00 EX Slow? Yes, but this slow?

First I thought it was normal but after hearing other peoples times and racing other cars i'm begining to wonder if my wifes car has some problems, maybe ECU related. We bought the car 6 months old with barely 10k miles and in mint condition. It was slow but after we installed a Intake it got louder but not much faster. If anything it slowed down. The tranny does not want to downshift and will upshift at 3-4k at anything less than WOT. Unlike any other honda tranny i've driven. The car will not spin a tire under any condition also.

The only thing I could think of would be to reset the ECU since I know the ECU learns driving habits and tranny shift points on the 96-up obd-II cars. Plus the addition of the intake may have done something also. I would have tried this long ago but, no radio code yet

We ran it at the track and it ran 12.0-12.1's in the 1/8th mile.

Anyone else with a auto 6th gen ex have any times or similar problems?

sorry boss, it's just gonna be slow. I remember the first time i ran my car with my intake i managed a high 17. Now with turbo i'm running low 15's high 14's. It's just a slow car, plus it's a little heavy because of all the options.
Those times are in the 1/4 mile, just to let you know.

Don't worry, EX autos are slugs. They are so slow off the line and it takes forever for the rpm's to rise. With i/h/e, the car will be even slower off the line, but you gain some midrange, but since it's an auto you won't even be able to rev really high to get some use out of the mods, which are mainly designed for mid to top-end power. I saw a 5spd DX, I believe it was stock, it didn't have exhaust and I couldn't hear an intake, smoke a EX Auto. I think in the 1/4 they run about 17's on average. You could try to reset the ECU, you might feel a difference in that. But after driving my friend's Si, and my Aunt's Integra GSR, stick is faster than auto in about every way.

I know auto's are slow but this is beyond belief like something is wrong. I have rode in auto EG hatches that pull alot harder than this.

I had an AEM CAI intake installed and it made me lose even more low-end. The car was slow as all hell, especially when the air was hot outside. I didn't reset the ECU, but the throttle response was slightly better, and of course the engine got louder. As for HP gains, they were there, but nothing big. Actually I had I/H/E installed (AEM CAI, DC 4-2-1 Headers, Apexi WS cat-back) and the car didn't feel much faster at all. Try to take off the intake for a couple hours and drive with the stock one, and see if it makes any difference. Oh yeah, did you get a short ram? Those things are terrible, they make your car boggy off the line sometimes cause it's just sucking in hot air from the engine bay. Once the car picks up speed and air circulates, it starts to work somewhat better.
