Hello some people may know that I have been working on a b20/vtec motor for quite sometime. I got everything needed except a few minor parts and my tranny. I paid someone named Glen $1400 about 3 to 4 months ago to get me a GSR tranny with a quaife lsd. His cell phone number is 310-291-6391 if anyone is interested. So far these days I have been trying to get in contact with him but he never picks up or when he does pick up he hangs up after I tell him who I am. Does anyone know what I can do to get my money back or am I pretty much screwed? Since the $1400 is alot of money if I am not able to get my money or tranny back I will be forced to sell my b20/vtec motor and most of my parts associated with it. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do for now?

If u issued a check, you can ask the bank to help get your money back and sue him.

If cash, sue him.

What do I do to sue someone?

 

call a lawyer, contact the police.

 

go to his shop, grab the club from ur steering wheel, pull the hook from the club and handle yo biDDnESS

jk get a lawyer and sue him for more money than u gave him

 

take him to small clames court but call him and leave him a message or wirte him a letter tell him he has to pay you back by a certen date or you will take him to small clames court. thats what i did i payed some one 2000.00 in cash too.

How did that work? You just gave him $1400 and told him to find a tranny for you? No receipts? How did you meet this guy? I could understand if this was a business...either you put a deposit down or pay in full...but you at least have a receipt proving you paid. I really hope u get this guy...but you gotta be more careful with ur money...especially $1400. Good luck though!!!

No I don't have a receipt I wish I did though . I got some other stuff from him before so I trusted him with my money for the tranny. Now 4 months later he doesn't answer his cell phone. I have pretty much everything needed for a b20/vtec swap into a eg civic except for the tranny, motor mounts, and my hondata.

 

I am going to go ahead with the small claims thing at my local court house. If that doesn't work I will put up my b20/vtec for sale. Here are a list of modifications

b20z block bored and honed to 84.5mm
Probe connecting rods (lighter than eagle)
Arias 11.5:1 cr pistons

I bought my block bare so I bought some new parts from honda and acura. Such as ITR water pump, ITR timing belt, 93 gsr oil pump, alternator brackets, oil pressure sensor, main coolant return line, and etc.

That is my motor plus I have some other stuff for the motor as well.

ITR Flywheel used only a few hundred miles
Exedy Organic Racing Clutch
Raxles.com axles for my b20 swap

Everything in my motor is pretty much new except for the block and head. Make me an offer and I will surely think about it. I spent a lot of money on this swap but I don't have enough money to buy another tranny. With the money from selling this I will try to buy a ITR motor and pay off my credit card debts

dayum..first thing i'd do is find out his full name and if possible his address. have a friend or somebody call him and find out where he lives, then you'll have a little more of a chance tracking him down and getting your cash back.

I'm sorry to say, but kiss that $1400 goodbye bro. With out some sort of physical evidence that you gave this person $1400, the cops are just going to laugh at you and tell you sorry.

In court it would be your word against his, and you bear the burden of proof.


Think of it as a learning experience, and don't do it again. Unless you like giving away money, and in that case, come my way.

He was a cool guy buying stuff from my work and he came by the office more than a few times. I trusted him with my stuff but it back fired on me . If it is true that I can't get any money from court without any physical evidence then I will be forced to sell my motor. I asked this question in the EG forum as well but I was told that I can go to a small claims court which is located near me. Isn't an oral agreement legally binding? How about if I record him over a phone converstaion saying he won't get my tranny for me? Also some of my co workers know how the person looks and that he and I both had an agreement on a tranny for $1400.

I hope I don't have to come to this but is anyone interested in my motor? I have been waiting a long time for my civic to run again. I will take any reasonable offer.

I want to sell my motor only when the time comes. I wasn't aware of the pursuit through court to get my money back till a week ago. If that fails then my motor will be up for sale in the classifieds.

My coworkers from my old work knew about my deal with Glen. They also met him before when he came into my work.

 

Damn I hate to hear that, I've been screwed like that before too, and the **** sux ***, good luck in getting the stuff straight.

He doesn't live in my area or else I would have my tranny by now, he does live in So Cal though.

 

Andrew, I accidently deleted your email to me. Thank you for the help. I currently only have the persons name and cell phone number. When I have time I will go to my local cout house and pick up a claims form. I am currently trying to write up a letter about this whole incident. Also what was your email address again?
