BAD THINGS ON 01-05 CIVIC
HAS ANYONE HAVE A LOT OF PROBLEM WITH THEIR CIVIC. I HAVE AN 01 CIVIC THAT HAS A LOT OF **** THAT MAKE ME DONT WANT THE CAR ANY MORE. FIRST OF ALL NOT TO LONG AGO MY SIGNAL LIGHT HAS WENT OUT ON ME. I'M NOT SURE IF I CAN FIX THAT PROBLEM BUT AS TO OTHER THINGS I HAVE A LOT DO DEAL WITH LIKE I NEED NEW SHOCK ALL AROUND NEED TO FIX MY ABS LIGHT BECAUSE OF SOMETHING THAT CAUSING, I NEED NEW OEM CAMBER KIT FOR THE BACK, I NEED TO BUY NEW RADIATOR SUPPORT SO I CAN PUT AN NEW HOOD ON, RADIATOR SUPPORT IS MISS UP. MY MOTOR IS RUNNING LIKE **** RPM SOMETIME WILL DROP VERY LOW LIKE THE CAR WILL DIE ON ME, MY THERMOSTAT IS LEAKING WATER AS COOLEN BUT DOESNT OVER HEAT. MY GOT DAMN CLUTCH IS GOING OUT SOON. AND LAST MY CAR HAS AN DENT ON THE PASSAGE SIDE. I'LL SAY FROM 1-10 I GIVE THESE CIVIC AN 2 ONLY BECAUSE OF THE CAR SUCKS. I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEM WITH MY 93 CIVIC COUPE.
sounds like you beat that car to death. i have a high mileage 95 civic (54x xxx) yea, only replaced the motor so far [it ran but made grinding noise which nobody figured out]( a little more hp in this new one
) really only brakes and suspension parts ( Balljoints, tie rods) lol

Hopefully you do not owe any money on the car, so if you and the previous owners have not spent any money on maintaining the car, now you will have to spend some or get rid of it for low dollars as a fixer upper. Find out what it would cost to repair and get in good condition to keep or sell it for $1500. as it is today and get something else.
Based on what you said I am going to assume you or the previous owner(s) wrecked the car and/or did not take good care of the car.
Radiator support and hood- these don't mess up on its own, you or the previous owner hit something with the front.
Rear camber- this also doesn't mess up on its own unless you or the previous owner do some ridiculous driving.. curb checked... slid on ice and hit the median... etc
New thermostat is about 15 bucks, seal is another 2 bucks, just get it done.
Clutch goes out eventually, even your 93 Civic's clutch (assuming it was a 5-spd as well) would have gone out sooner or later.
Bulbs also go out eventually, compare it to any other car if you want to... but it would have gone out sometime in the future.
I don't see how your previous car having a dent compares to what crappy conditions you have left your new Civic in.
Your post was pretty much a nonsense bitchfest that could have been avoided if you took better care of your car. Its not necessarily all 2001-05 Civics are bad, it just so happens to be yours and yours only.
Your new Civic's D-series motor was a redesigned, better version of the D-series motor in your old 93 Civic. I can only assume that you would have a check engine light, go to any auto parts store like AutoZone and they will check your CEL for free. It would most likely tell you why the engine fluctuates in RPM.
However, if its LEAKING and your RPM JUMPS UP AND DOWN. I will bet its your water pump, thermostat, and timing belt. Water pump and thermostat for not pushing the fluid and it building up and gushing out at the thermostat. Timing belt for skipping a notch.
Fix it or sell it, end of the story.

first was my signal light..but i replaced the relay and it works fine now..then it was the engine instead of fixing it i replaced it
..and now the transmission (thats because 01 transmission sucks if its auto)..i replaced all 4 struts..and bushings, brakes and rotors (because i didnt want to get them resurface) other then that its fine but every car need its maintenances

the only problem i have had with my 02 ex is a misfire that keeps coming and going but other than that its a very good car i love my em2. and i had a broken motor mount which made the input shaft bearing go out and burn out my clutch .. but my husband and our good friend rick rebuilt my tranny and fixed the mount and put a new clutch in and its never been better.

if you think these civics got problems...try owning a 2nd generation eclipse...i've spent more money fixing the car than the amount i spent buying it, i've spent more time fixing the dam car than driving it. but its a fun turbo car, so yea either sell your car and get another one or just deal with it and fix the problems. Owning a car isn't like a video game, it will actually have real problems you need to fix.
You've abused and/or neglected your car, but it's somehow Honda's fault? I don't understand that logic.
I think you're just overreacting.
1. Check the fuse, bulb and relay. Replace whichever is malfunctioning.
2. The OEM dampers do leave a lot to be desired, but how many miles are on your car? What kind of road conditions to you regularly drive on? These things don't last forever, regardless of manufacturer.
3. Your ABS has self-diagnostic capabilities. Refer to a shop manual. (unless someone wants to explain it, or has an image they can scan, etc. - I'm pinched for time.)
4. Were you in an accident? Replacing the radiator support is a bit time consuming, but it isn't overly difficult. The rear upper ("camber") arms are a breeze.
5. Clean your IACV, and change your air filter.
6. Replace the thermostat.
7. Clutches don't last forever.
8. You should invest more time and money in preventive maintenance, and take better overall care of your car.

Calm down, it might just be because it's a 01. I've heard "Rumors" of the EM2 having bad automatic transmission and usually failing them before 80-90k miles and that's about it.
My transmission is 98k and still running strong. My gauges + signal lights never stopped working for me once. Vtec-E meaning gas mileage is great. D17A2 Vtec engages at 2.7k RPM. Chassis is great. Engine is still running perfect. Doesn't burn too much oil.
The only bad things I would say about this car is that it takes a bit too long for the car to warm up.
I don't know about you, but I love my EM2 (:

i love my 03 civic, great work house to bomb around in. Haven t had any problems so far and i have 120 XXX k's on it. The only thing i need to do is replace the clutch cause it chatters like crazy and is very grindy in first gear (synchro issues i believe). Anyways, clutch aside its a fine piece of machinery
Oh btw. Are you still doing your build? If so, how's it going now. Haven't seen any updates.
You havent seen any updates? i bought couple more other things and take some new pics check it out
im sorry man.... i beat the **** outta my car.... but not that bad haha... dont get me wrong i love the car but im just tired of it.... it just needs power otherwise its a great car.
