I/h/e and tuned with flashpro will have you sitting nicely. As far as which header is the best, you'll have to wait for someone else to chime in.

X2. I bought the Vibrant catless RH and use the HKS Sport Ti cat-back. I also had my car dynoed with Flash-Pro. It's a completely different car now and drives great.

Best mods for a civic si, body kits that will bring in lots of air to
your custom front mount intake, window rain guards, vynle
for the side of the car, LED under body kit that sweeps phases and changes colors, and chrome rimz the bigger the better!

Seriously am I the only one who thought this when they read the title ofthis thread?!

But the "best" headers for power gains never se
to have flex sections making them not very daily driver friendly. It's not a question if it'll crack but when will it crack or bend...

a turbo

You will spend a ton of money on an exhaust and a header and only get a small increase in power.

Is it better to get a header with a build in cat? Or better to buy a high flow car or simply no cat?

I can tell your new at this. Headers make great gains and they make even better gains when mated to a catback exhaust. ALso a intake is a good investment for the money.

No cat will allow better flowing exhaust producing more power. The skunk 2 header is good, vibrant is good, kidd racing isnt bad for the money, the new Invidia has a 70mm collector which is nice. You want a exhaust that is free flowing. If you want the most hp gains then get atleast 2.5" piping. Most of the intakes are teh same just preference of name brand and if you want a Cold air or short ram.

Flashpro is a great thing that will tune all your parts and get you the most outta the motor and the parts you have. If you have the money and wanna stay N/A get some cams and you will be sitting pretty.

They make other items to add to the list of go fast parts, you can use a RRC intake manifold, Get a spoon throttle body or get a 06-08 tsx throttle body and send it to max bore to have it bored out. All these things listed will help hp and tq gains but the more you have the better everything works.

If you get a header that doesnt have a flex pipe in it, Ive read that a Engine torque dampner will keep the header from breaking.

^^ almost same as the hondata flashpro. It all depends on what you want, they each have some slight differences but Hondata has Honda in its name, also they've been doing Honda/Acura for forever. Cobb is know for Nissan and Subaru

I repeat, get a turbo. By the time you get an exhaust, a header, and an intake, you would have spent at least 1500 to 2000 dollars. That is half the price of a complete turbo setup.

With the exhaust, headers, and intake you might get an extra 15% gain in horsepower if you are lucky.

With a turbo you can easily get an extra 60% horsepower. If you try a little you can double your horsepower, and if you try really hard you might be able to triple your horsepower.

So go with the turbo.

If you triple your horsepower you'll probably want to start looking into building your motor and tranny at that point... that = $$$$$$

Oh btw, after installing I/H/E and the flashpro tune, how much WHP are you generally sitting with?

Oh yeah to triple your horsepower it will cost some serious money and you will need to upgrade the engine and gearbox.

However, you could easily get 300 wheel hp with the stock engine and gearbox with a turbo.

The turbo is by far the best value for adding horsepower.

yes it is but when you have to buy the kit, then upgrade clutch flywheel and get a good *** tune, and have it installed. Its way more then 4K its like 6 or so thousand. Also with all that extra power it really really prematurly wears the engine and when some breaks b/c of that fancy fan, it cost lots of money. People generally dont blow motors b/c bolt ons, but they do however when they ahve a boost controller and just keep turing the **** up! especually when your new at modding.

Enjoy your new rattly civic!

I had the ES motor mount inserts and they were night and day on my EJ. I can't imagine how much a solid mount is going to suck.

greg what header do you suggest? as for the exhaust i plan on keeping it stock with 2.5 piping. ive had experience with loud and big exhausts with cops.

I doubled my hp, (around 400 at crank, 360ish at the wheels), not tracking it, but definitely a lot of boosting. I've got 7k under my belt, and no serious problems aside from the more frequent oil change (once every 3k instead of every 10k, lol)

its just putting epoxy inside the front motor mount.
and having a 900 dollar header hitting your subframe because you make too much power for the ingalls etd to handle, this 14 dollar mod is not a bad addition. a cheaper alternative to buying those p.o.s es inserts.

ewww, why epoxy? thats like an 85a shore grade hardness. Thats overkill. Stick with the window weld (around 60a-65a shore grade) It's more than enough for me, its more than enough for the 650whp beasty.
