Brake problems with my CRX
My crx is real low on brake fluid. Now this didn't happen from one day to the next. I been driving it for I'd say almost a month and now its low to the point that it looks like theres no fluid in the resovoir. Now I saw the prop valve is very greasy. I checked all screw points where the brake lines attach to the prop and nothing is leaking. But where I saw leaking was from that little rubber piece its black. Am I right or is it not possible to leak from there?
Youd better top off the reservoir if your still driving it, if it goes empty, air will enter the lines and your brake pedal will feel low or spongy or you could lose your brakes if its low enough in the system.
Check on the firewall for peeling paint. Brake fluid eats paint very quickly, if any is leaking from the proportioning valve or master cylinder, you should be able to notice spots on the paint where brake fluid is.
If no visible leaks, check all the lines going to the brakes.
If you still have no leaks, bleed the entire system. If you still loose fluid, then its possible the master cylinder could have a bad seal and is leaking the fluid into the brake booster.
