My new 91 Civic Si Hatch!
So I just came into this car amazingly! Long story shortened, I bought a red 89 Hatch for $500 from a guy who claimed the engine and tranny were rebuilt (I am just getting into this hobby so I didn't know what to look for). It was cancer covered, interior literally torn to shreds and cracked windshield, but it was just going to be a winter project to pick up and learn a few things then probably pass on. Then the timing belt broke, we tore it apart and it was obviously all original from the belt to the water pump everything. Nothing was rebuilt. We also discovered he had run regular RCA audio cables for the fuel pump. They were actually dangling and rapped around the pump. EXTREMELY BAD IDEA!
So I called him out on it, and very surprisingly he said he had a 91 Si and he would trade us straight up. He said he felt bad and said he loved the little red one. So we didn't really believe it and drove to check it out. He told us it would not stay running and there was a electrical short. We went out, it was in immaculate shape which was enough for me, I could figure out the rest later. So I signed the title before he could change his mind (and before we tried to get it started). We turned the key and drove it half an hour back to my garage no problems. All it needs so far is a new exhaust and new rings. Still no idea why he couldn't get it started but haven't found anything yet and I've been driving it for about a week now with no problems!
So now I am the proud new owner of my very own ED Si! I've put pics up of what I had and what I ended up with along with some pics of the wires on the fuel pump for fun.

This was running to the fuel pump.

And what I ended up with!

Yeah I know, he said he thought there was just something about the red on e that he missed. I didn't argue. The Si is all original, even the floor mats are original in good shape and still say Civic on them. Has the original owners manual with all previous services done to it written in it up to about 2001.
All it needs is a new exhaust, the nasty tint removed, and some wire tucking under the wheel. I mean of course I plan on doing quite a bit more with it for fun and show once I figure out where to start. I am very new to this project!
