I'm not really much into the rusted hood trend that's going on here lately, but has anyone rusted a trunk? (on purpose) I've seen differen't ideas on places to "rust" on fronts of VW's and a few Civics, but haven't seen anything creative done with any deck lids. Just curious, any pictures?

What's so hot about a rusted hoods and trunks I don't get id rather have a shine with clear coat on mine..rusted hood are ugly as f**ck...lol. that's what I think..

Its all about attention.
Its like tattooing your face.. Instead of people just recognizing you...they now stare in utter disgust, while you think they are admiring

 

it's been done.. i've seen alot of VW's with that.. there's even an oldschool scirocco (sp) that the guy had HALF of the car rusted and the other half restored in mint condition (two face theme)

i saw a beige/brown EG hatch here with a rusted hood with clearcoat on the hood, it made it look like a marble countertop, looked REALLY clean

 

people that are rusting their cars on purpose must have jumped in that gene pool when the life gaurd was off duty.

 

I'd like to see some pictures if you have any. And people, like I said, I'm not really into the look but I'd like to see some creative ideas. Way to be open minded guys.

 

plus all the dirty rust water that runs onto your clean paint. deff not a good mixture.

 

have never heard of it or seen it but by far the most stupid thing i have EVER heard done with a car why would you want a rust look??? must be something the younger kids are doing that cant afford CF or new paint lol

 

Having rusty bodyparts isn't exactly the pinnacle of being creative or being open minded.

Turn your trunk into a mini shark tank. That's creative.
