started out the season here. new engine, new ecu

broke another subframe shaking the car down a week before the first race of the season.

broke some axles

and won some races

wrecked at the last weekend but managed to get it back together and finish 3rd on saturday and 1st on sunday in the rain (thank you rain tires)

ended the season taking the engine and goodies back out and crushin what was left. once i got the car home i found a lot of chassis issues (cracks, bends, holes, rot in wierd places) so i decided to retire it.

but before the new year rang in, i had a replacement

It was finally a good year, expensive but good year. Finally fixed my overheating issue (head gasket), fixed my down on power issue (overheating causing the timing to go out of whack), and replaced my clutch with about 230,000 miles. As usual I look forward to each year as I get to help people get started in autocrossing. Couple of these guys have won their class this year in our region. It's personally rewarding when you can introduce someone into a sport they have never heard of and they excel at it.

One of my students who was a car show guy, hopefully he's converted

This guy I believe started with his son who has an RX7. This car was freakishly fast for such a large/heavy car. He took the class win in our region for 2009 in STX.

Since my car was down and out for our 1st event Roseanne Freeburger let me codrive in DS at our Hershey event. Been awhile since I drove a car with R tires. She also told me she had a clunking issue with something in her car, and I ran 1st heat. So I checked her suspension, exhaust, shifter, couldn't find anything. My 2nd run in a hard braking area something slid under my feet. While finishing the slalom I was able to pull it out from under my feet - it was her torque wrench. When I got back to grid she tells me "OH that's where it went" LOL. That run I was one of my faster runs too. LOL. I placed 2nd that event.

This guy has been autocrossing 1-2 years and has one fast and fun STI. I was going to co-drive with him in 2009, but finally got my car fixed. still helped him dial in his car, gave him some driving tips to help him get faster.

'09 was fun for me as I proved to myself that it may take a while, but deams can be fulfilled if you have the time, dedication and patience.Proudly,in February 09 I got my Competition license after the long HPDE ladder '07-'08.Made some great friends along the way,got 2nd in points for So Cal H1,and hopefully ROY as well(we will see saturday).I hope to do even better this year with more experience and an improved car.I have a new goal to set a new H1 lap record at a So Cal track, and podium at the nats in 2010.

Got my first win

Had a tremendously solid and reliable K powered H1 car, though some TPS issues would not leave me alone.I found the issue and let's hope I see no more of that pest in 2010!

I was very impressed by your performance this year Justin. What turned out to be the problem with the TPS.

Awesome picture by the way,,, looks like your holding your junkpak, as any driver should while getting photographed !!

We need to all have pictures kissing tom this year

I learned nothing in 2009. Brain is already at capacity. Therefore, I plan to learn nothing in 2010.

I did realize something....
1. The one with the most stickers doesn't always win
2. H1 Cars are not always faster then H2 cars, but may have a koo koo Kiwi on board
3. AEM Factory cars are slow

*****Us pushing is after the 2009 H2 National Champ, blew up MY motor!

Funniest post by H2 Wannabe!! Post of the year, and we just started 2010!

I learned a lot in 2009. Started with a new car in 2008. Development was a lot slower than expected due to the fact not a lot of people run TSX. Made lots of development changes, custom parts, wasted a lot of money, encountered a lot of failure, and **** you think will work but just don't work as expected.

Broke at the end of 2009. Luckily my brain capacity is not yet full and we learned a lot. Hopefully we will get to apply what we learned in 2009 to make the car a champion in 2010.

2009 was a pretty good year, I finally swapped out the big cam f22 for the crazy mad V-TEC Yo! H22, and have been hauling *** since. The west coasters are gonna be pissed they complained about the big cam f22 when this h22 comes to nationals.

That is if I can keep it all running for three days straight. Overheated, broke an axle, overheated, overheated and blew out all the water, had the head resurfaced and put it all back together, axle started backing out, a bolt under the timing cover backed out eating the timing belt causing 10+ bent valves. But when it was running I was half a second or less off the track records at Barber, Road Atlanta, Carolina Motorsports Park, Summit Point, and Watkins Glen. The exceptions are VIR where I dropped it by over a second and Lowes Motor Speedway where I went faster than the old http://www.spiffracing.com/flashback...008/index.html school H1 record by over two seconds. I picked up a new sponsor Redline Performance Group, they have been very supportive of my efforts and I have race write-ups from each individual event with videos here http://www.redlineautoclub.com/forum...forum.php?f=60

But I really had a blast and have seen some very good growth on the east coast with some coming in the south east too. I am really looking forward to racing in 2010. I still have two more months before the car and I will be ready so we will see what other goodies I can get in that time, always looking to go faster.

Here are a couple pics

It seems to be a construction issue with the aftermarket sensors and nobody wants to step up(cough - Omni).OEM ones seem to be fine, and I finally have one now.

Started off the year renting an ice racer:

I ran a couple of 3-hour enduros with my buddies in my Civic.

Sundown GP at Mosport:

Finished 5th in class, 12th over all.

War Bonnet Enduro at Mosport:

Finished 3rd in class, 14th over all.

Detailed race reports can be found in my blog: http://vincentbasile.blogspot.com/

Hoping to run my first SCCA events in ITS in 2010. I would really like to do the 12-hour enduro at NJMP!

'09 was good to me.Won the local Autoslalom(Solo2) Championship, which included a free entry into Targa Newfoundland.Rented this for Targa....

and then won my class at Targa(class 8)!

When I got home from Targa, bought this del Sol for $60

Come to think of it,'09 was a real good year.

now with my other two cars paid off and the kids now out of daycare, that should free up some more money. trying to throw some auto-x in the mix when i get her back running.
