friend just called me and is having some trouble with his 87 accord. i figured id check on here so please give me grace if im forgetting somethin like a noob. basically after he drives for 15 minutes approx. his motor will bog down and die. after restarting immediately it will only drive for a few hundred feet before doing the same thing. its not overheating, and its gettin fuel in. i havent got to see it so i figured id throw this one out there. any help is much appreciated

 

Carbed or injected (LX/DX or LX-i/SE-i)?

 

tis carbed. i found out it hasnt been driven in three years. fuel filter possibly?

 

sounds like it could be a clogged catalytic converter

 

remove, rebuild/replace carb
