New to the forums // Need advice on more hp and paint jobs
Hey everyone, I made this account awhile back but I'm just starting to get into cars. I'm 17 and I have a 1996 Honda Accord Ex Sedan. I believe it has a F22B1 engine. It is a 5speed MT and it currently only has a K & N cold air intake. I wanted to find out how I can gain more hp and what the price is for a paintjob because my car is currently a dark seafoam green or a color similar to it and I wanted to repaint it white or black. Does anyone know the price range for the paintjob? Thanks a lot for the help. I look forward to talking to a lot people on this forum and helping them.

Speed is just a question of money. How fast do you want to go? You can gain a few HP here and there with bolt ons, but you could easily spend $1k and still not have a fast car. Or you could do an engine swap, witha turbo and nitrous, etc. It really depends how much you want to spend and if you have to deal with smog checks, etc.
For paint, you would really need to check your local shops as it could vary from place to place. Basically Earl Sheib would be $249 for paint only(without prep) up to several thousand dollars. Just know that between white and black, they will usually charge you more for white, if they are painting over a dark color.

Alright, first, a belated welcome to the forums!
Now, IMO you are going to find more detailed responses if you search HT. You can even use google, most HT threads will pop up there. With that out of the way...
You get what you pay for with paintjobs. Heard of Maaco? They do paintjobs for several hundred dollars, and often it shows. I HAVE seen them do pretty good work, but usually if the customer did their own prep work. Just don't expect the paint to last a lifetime or anything.
Obviously you can get a really nice paintjob, but you're going to be paying a few grand easy. And of course you can search around and probably find someone who paints for a price in between those two options.
And as for your hp question, I'm gonna recommend you follow my first piece of advice and search. Your question has been answered MANY times.
