Are Helms manuals so well written and photographed that someone that hasn't taken auto mechanics but is reasonably mechanically inclined and has the right tools can do major engine and tranny repair? There just seems to be so many parts to these that it would be a daunting task?

I would say yes, but depends on How mechanically inclined you are. In my experience, the worste part is the book often refer to "Honda tool #xxx-xxxx", for specific jobs.

 

i like the honda service manual better then the helms. found it easier to understand. im no mechanic, but can do alot on my own.

 

Where do you buy Honda manuals? Will the Honda dealership sell them to you?

 

I prefer the Honda Shop Manual.

 

Whats the difference between the HELM's manual and the Honda Service Manual. Arn't they the same?
