Paint questions?
Hey guys I'm new here, I joined here because a mate told me alot of people are helpful on here
My car is black:
-I would like to know all the equipment I need to buy in order to respray my bumper since the paint has been deteriorated on the bumper and how can I make the bumper match the other parts?
-Another thing is I have broken paint under my rear left window (rear panel), I touched it and the paint cracked now I can see rust inside, how can I go about killing the rust and then painting it? Do I need to repaint the whole rear panel or just the part that has been chipped off and rusted?
Thanks, if you need pictures please ask for me to upload em!

Well paint chipping is a pain sometimes... First off the materials needed to paint are
Sandpaper grits needed
180,320,600,1000,1500,2000
Paint products
Sealer
High Build Primer (for your purpose the rattle can is best)
Primer
Base Coat (flex additive for bumper)
Clear Coat
Paint gun with 1.2 to 1.4 tip
Buffer
Coarse pad and swirl removal pad with appropriate compounds
as far as the bumper goes black is black.... some black, however; has a tint of blue in it so check your paint code located in different locations depending on vehicle make and model. So I would just remove the bumper, if it’s not cracked or spider webbing then said down to a very dull finish with 320 grit, high build, 600, sealer, base, clear, wet sand, buff
Dealing with cracking paint means you have to sand down ALL the paint around the surrounding area, sand the paint until you are confident that you are into good base coat. You can now stop with all the paint removal and begin to sand the remaining panel until all clear coating is removed and the base coat is dull.
High build primer covering all the bare metal area and 8-12" into the prepped paint surface. Now you must block the area so that no transition between the two areas is noticeable (the reason for high build primer is to fill in VERY small imperfections like areas that go from paint to no paint, about 5-6mills.)

sand the bumper down, make sure you dont need to do any repairs on it, body work etc, primer with a 2k primer, then scuff with 400, then tack cloth and spray your base/clear
