Intermittenly, idle goes up and down, 900-1400rpms
I have a 98 GSR with ITR internals, blox IM with what looks like a LS TB...I did look for the FITV and it does not have 1. Cleaned the IACV, still the same. The idle does not do this all the time but will fluctuate from 900-1400 like when I come up to a light or something. If I put it in gear and while holding the brake, let clutch out a little to put motor under stress, the idle will go back to normal after a few seconds. Also have sprayed carb cleaner all over IM and checked vacume lines that I know of. I'm puzzled. I tried to do a search but all I found was the FITV and as I said earlier, my car dosnt have one. It's a 98 GSR wit p06 flashed, obd 1 jumper. Thanx for any help
Inside the throttle body there is only 1 hole. When I put my finger on it and cover it, motor idles really low but doesn't shut off. Pull map sensor plug off, then it dies. Pull of other sensor on left side(looking at tb) one with pop rivers on it, pull that plug and it idles high. Hmmmmm
That kind of idle bouncing usually happens when the A/F ratio is off for some reason. Check the air and fuel filters, MAP & TPS sensor voltage and O2 sensor.
Same thing used to happen to my b series swapped EG....turned out that the previous owner had an aftermarket TB on there that bypassed some vacume lines....when he sold me the car he put the orginal TB on and left the vacume lines bypassed with a plastic fitting. I couldn't figure out what it was, i tried cleaning the FITV and IACV like you to no avail...once i figured out that everything wasn't hooked up the way it is supposed to, and put them back to OEM, it solved the problem. Sounds like theres a vacume leak somewhere, most probably on the TB. If you have a friend with another TB...not an LS one, switch it out and see what happens...this may not be your problem but start by process of elimination. Good luck bro
Yea, I dnt know how to post pix but under the throttle body there is 2 lil male ends that had nuthin hooked up to them. I ran the lil coolant line from the spot under vtec selenoid to the 1st one, then the back one to the iacv. Seemed to have fixed the problem but then ryt bak to same thing

Was the coolant line to the FITV (under the TB) closed off or leaking coolant? Make sure the radiator and reservoir are full.
You need to check your FITV. It may have been disconnected because it wasn't working correctly. You can try removing the plate on the firewall side of the FITV and screwing the white plastic piece all the way in (you may need to remove the FITV to do this if you haven't done it before). Instead of adjusting the FITV, you can also: Get some rubbing alcohol and clean off the lower of the two small holes inside the TB in front of the throttle plate. Use clean towels and get it perfectly clean. Get some high quality masking tape and use a double layer to cover the FITV air inlet hole and about 1/2" around it, being careful not to get any dirt on the tape or hole area. Press the tape firmly onto the TB and reinstall the intake. See if one of these methods of testing the FITV fixes your problem.

Does not have FITV
like i said, mine did the same idles fine when it just sits there but surges when you come to a stop light. i've done this to a few cars and it has worked til today
Sorry. Read your reply about the male fittings under the TB without reading the previous info again. I assumed it was the FITV you were connecting the coolant hoses to since you connected them the same way the FITV and IACV are hooked up in other motors. I still think you should check what I mentioned before.
lol monkeys trying to have sex with a basketball daaahhhhhggg....post your problem in the tech section, they may be able to help you better...also try to figure out how to post pics, they are worth a thousand words I am almost certain its those "2 lil male ends that had nuthin hooked up to them" that are the problem....
ninja edit: To post pics, when you try to reply to a post click "go advanced" and then click "manage attachments" and upload the pic from your comp...should be able to do it that way...orrrrr host it on a public image hosting site and post the link...not the best way but gets the job done.

I did post n tech section. And this ones been more help. I've also been monitoring this from my iPhone, so it's not allowing me to post attachments....

there is a "tech/misc" forum that sometimes has others who can help...I wouldn't say this is in the wrong forum per se though.
BTW...try this link:http://hondaswap.com/general-tech-ar...ic-idle-29093/

Since you have an all motor application and people are responding to your problem, this forum is fine. If the cause of your woes isn't found after awhile, we can PM some of the more helpful and knowledgeable HT people and ask them to have a look. When I suggested you perform the previously listed checks, I was referring to the MAP and TPS voltages, filters and O2. Wouldn't hurt to check the timing as well.

ends under the throttle body but they are attached to it. No bolts, screws or anything to de-tach it....
