Default car won't start - main relay?

did a search on Main relays because I thought that was the problem,
everyones problems seemed to be that their car would start intermittently.
when I turn the key my car makes a wierd noise from the location of the main relay under the dash. and won't start at all, the fuel won't prime, or the dash lights come on. BUT - if i disconnect the + battery cable and then immediately reconnect it - the car will start no problem. As well, when I try to turn my car alarm on, the beep noise it usually makes sounds wierd as if the battery is dying. I tested the battery and it is fine. does anyone have any suggestions?

check the connections of your alarm and the little wires running to your battery terminal. My car had a problem of doing that as well as cutting out while driving, until i messed with the terminals. It turns out that a splice right near the terminal for one of the alarm ground wires was loose.

good idea - I guess it could be my immobilizer on my alarm if the alarm wiring was loose. I'll check that as well.
Any other ideas anybody?
