if you use the long block, all u need to do is just swap the tb and the sensors go right over.
and use fp and k pro to copy the tables over from a stock itr to the fp. makes sense?

Max you are right in regards of the long block. Now If you swap the dbw from your z3 it will work. But All you need is the block and use your z3 head. Yes the tranny will bolt up with no problems.

It depends on what year K20A R motor you are talking about, I'll assume you are referring to the pre 07 K20's
jo6wo, you will have to swap all the K20Z3 sensors over to the K20 and retain the K20Z3's intake manifold (RBC) and exhaust manifold with the DBW throttle body. You will have to cut off the water port on the K20Z3 intake manifold. Everything else is golden! Just be sure to pick up flash pro and at least do a AFR tune so you don't do any damage.

On the bottom is the stock K20Z3 intake manifold, on the top is after it has be modified.

the manifold on the left is a K20Z3 manifold before it's been cut.

here is what the manifold looks like after it's been cut.

Sure if he was running the engine's sensors and throttle body and converted to cable operation.
