We just bought a 1998 accord V6 and were told about a problem that we finally experienced for the first time.
When cold, the car starts fine, when its been sitting for probably 20 mins or more, it starts fine.
But when you try to start it right after it is shut off, the car has problems starting unless throttle is applied and won't idle on its own.

Any ideas of what could cause a problem like this?

This problem sounds familiar...next time, check the gas cap. If you hear a sucking/whoosing sound when you twist it open, then it maybe the problem. I seem to recall that replacing the gas cap solving the problem.

the gas cap didn't really seem to help, i don;t hear any weird noises when removing it. any other reasons why?
