H22 EG Hatch Build (56K = BAD IDEA)
Hatch was traded for locally with a bo bo *** h22 swap installed in it. The car belongs to my buddy Jason who owns a garage/ body shop here in Va. I'll be helping with the build and will try to keep this updated whenever i have the time as Jason has no H-tech account.
O.K., here it is the day it was brought in the shop to start the build. (day 1)

So we checked the car out a little better and found a lot of shotty work. No worries, it will all be put back right this time.
The beginning of the tear down.

20 mins later. motor out.

End of day one. After a couple hours and a few brews, the car was pretty much stripped. The inside and engine bay have been scuffed as of day two and painted on day 3. Pics coming of the rest of the progress prob. tomorrow.

looking nice so far. ill be checking in every now and then. what part of VA you live in? been trying to find another eg lover to work with. mine needs alot of work.
We're in Hot Springs, about an hour and a half north-west of Roanoke. We're planning on trying to get a few cars ready before Import Alliance and will be going to V.I.R. a lot this summer.

Why did you take the motor out? What are you plan on building? Did the H22 need rebuilt? or are you putting in a different engine etc.
Just curious what the plans are.

the h22 is going back in after a few things are done to it. manual tensioner, timing belt, water pump etc... a few of the gaskets are going to be replaced also because there was piles of shotty work done to the car. the valve cover was leaking so we checked it out and there was a damn zip tie stuck under the lip of it keeping it from sealing.
DAY 3
got the engine bay prepped and the inside ready to spray. going to tuck a few of the wires and whatnot but because this car is being built primarily to take to V.I.R. and just to rip around the mountains in, Jason decided not to fully tuck and shave the bay.

Jason spraying the color.

after base, before clear

Did'nt take pics after clear coat. the batteries went dead.
DAY 4
after clear coat

took all the heat and a/c junk out and put the dash back in. camera dead again. more pics coming...

ok. thats it for now. more updates coming soon...
