ok my DA has sat for almost a month now and i still cant figure out this stupid problem everytime i drive it it makes a terrible bearing noise then the cv alxe pops out on the passenger side
ive replaced both my inner tie rods cause one came out of the rack and the other was loose and there was slop in the steering not much i had been driving it for a week after the inner tie rod came out with no issues other than this damn noise there is no bearing play in the front wheel.....

im at wits end if i cant figure this out soon im just gonna parts it out and let some one else use a great running b18b1...

ive drove it problem free for 2 months then i lowered it then i started having problems....

 

Are you sure you have the right axle shaft? It sound like you have one that's too short. When the axle is in the trans and the hub there should be a type of interferance fit. The axle should not be able to pop out if it's the correct length.

 

well im gonna take it out and go up to my work and compare it to one up there i dont know why this happened before i lowered it it was fine wtf?

 

It could be the wrong axle or the differential but that's not too likely I would think. It happened to my friend though and his differential broke where the bottom bearing went on.

 

well, one thing you should check is the metal circlip that holds the axle into the tranny



the part to the left, is what plugs into the tranny.. see that lil metal ring around the tip of the splines where is slides in the tranny? THAT is what helps hold your axle in

so, make sure you have the right axle (not too short), and make sure that clip is in place, and not broken/bent/****ed up..

 

i took it out the teeth past the clip where filed down i bought a new axle and seal and we will see what happens

the axle was the same lenght but the axle seems like its extended too far with it bolted in idk this car has had too many issues by far one of the most problematic hondas ive owned i think imma go back with a civic again

if it was extended too far, then it wouldnt pop out

now, has your car ever been wrecked? you got good stuff mounts in your car? or are you driving around with hella sloppy broken mounts? that could cause it as well

have you bought a new axle yet?

it also may be the tranny, where the axle pops in..

 

my motor dosent shake at all while its running it has no cels the engine is best part of the car i have a clean title and carfax so i dont think it was wrecked... i bought a new axle i guess i will see what happens if it pops out again im done with this car ive changed several sets of axles never had such a problem i think the whole front end was ready to fall apart when i bought it as one of my inner tie rods threaded itself out completely but luckily i wasent driving it.

dont give up.. ill be laughing if, right when you fix this, that is the only problem left, then you sell it, and the next guy drives it for years without probs.. hahahaha

ANY car can give you probems.. new, old, whatever.. i know a guy that bought a BRAND NEW, 0 miles Mazdaspeed 6... Piece of ****.. poorly built, fast, but not as fast as other cars in its class and price range, and did i mention it was a piece of shi+? lol

my teg has 190k miles on it, and runs great.. NO issues.. then again, ive had a CRX with 110, that had the whole exhaust rust out, and it also busted a timing belt... it can be ANY car.. who is to say that the next car you get isnt a bucket? lol

im just giving you a hard time.. lol.. do what you want.. i would keep it, and fix the last few things wrong with it, and then boost it.. hahahahahaha

exactly WHAT ELSE is wrong with it, because you are getting rid of a very very very nice car, simply because it needs some maintenance, just like all old cars..

id really hate to see you ditch that out of frustration, cause you bought a car that was almost 2 decades old, and ran into a few hiccups..

 

i dunno i guess i will let someone else look at it i think my trans is probably junk it sounds like a bearing going down the road real loud the wheel bearing has no play either

 

i would just go to the wrecking yard and get a tranny.. im SURE you can find one for 150-200 bucks, in good condition, with a 30 days warranty... i always nab transmissions out at the bone yards... at least try that before you get rid of it.. if you have already tried different axles, and it still pops out, then all sign point to the tranny

 

finding a tranny espesically a 5spd b series trans around here is impossible no junkyards have them they are all autos around

 

eh.. start looking online.. you will find one...

 

Feel the inside of the differential for play. A new oem diff is only 100 bucks and if it's making a bearing noise, that my be it.

 

ot just un lower the car since ur problem came form lowering.

ALL problems come from lowering cars...

tire wear, axel problems, bearings eating up, cambers, shocks going.

raise it back up. put new axles/seals and be done.

 

Are you getting your axles from work? Where do you work? If it's autozone, get a refund and buy an axle from somewhere else. See if you can get a Cardone axle from Kragen.
I just went through this myself, had 3 pass. side axles pop out in less than a month. All 3 axles were brand new from AZ. I finally compared the last 2 axles that popped out to the OEM axle and the Cardone axle from Kragen, sure enough, both AZ axles were about 1/2 to 5/8" shorter than the OEM and Kragen axles.

 

axle getting eaten up by the diff?????? sounds like your diff might be on it's way out. happened to me, but only after i had wrecked it. my advice is to take apart the tranny and service it. you'll feel better in the long wrong.

also, carfax doesn't show everything like it should. the car might not have been in an accident, but what's not to say the car hadn't gotten a tranny swap or wat not. or if the car was beat by the previous owner.

 

the car had the tranny swapped out at one piont along with the motor im not raising my car back up itll look like fuccin **** i had my 94 ej1 completely dumped and never had an issues.
just for demotration purposes here s how low it was


on another note it made the noise before lowering it and i drove it lowered for 3 weeks before i had a problem

 

then it could be your diff. cause now the tranny is a big ?

 

and how should i go about checking the diff for play?
