Default 1991 GS Integra Electrical Problem

Hey guys, I picked this teg' up from my buddy. For some reason it keeps draining the battery. I've checked and replaced the grounds for the batt along with the mai power wire that goes from the under-hood fuse box to the starter. Im trying to figure out where to go next.

Anyone have any input or ideas that I could check next? Anyone had the same experience?

Thanks in advance.

You might have a short somewhere that is causing a parasitic drain. Do you have a multimeter and know how to test for that?

Has anything aftermarket been installed in the car, like alarm, deck, system, etc? If so, you may want to check to see if those are causing the drain.

I would look for a parasitic drain first, all you need is a 12V test light, [if fact a test light is better then a meter], disconnect one of the batt. leads, [I always use the ground, but either one will work] connect test light ground to batt. cable clamp, [it makes no diff. which one you disconnect] then touch test light probe to batt. terminal, make sure everything in car is off. [doors closed] if test light turns on, [at all] you have a drain, start pulling fuses one by one until test light goes out, once light goes out you have found the circuit that has the draw, then it is a matter of unplugging components on that circuit till you find the "defective" one, [same way, one by one untill test light goes out].

If the test light does not light up, have the batt. and alt. checked, this is best done in the car with a load check, most batt./alt. shops do this for free.
Pulling the alt. on a G2 is a bit of a PITA, especially if you find there is nothing wrong with it, if you do pull it and it is still the original alt. I would replace the brushes at the very least, even if it tests good. 94
