Default how sould I clean my stock gsr pistons with???

Hey I got a 95 gsr and I am doing a rebuild and I am using stock pistons. What should I clean the pistons with. Should I hot water them with soap? Sould I use steel wool with brake cleaner? Something that will not ruin them

THANKS

If you're doing a rebuild you'll need oversized pistons to go in the slightly larger bore. If you're just trying to re-ring some tired old pistons in a tired old block, don't worry about cleaning the pistons, you'll be rebuilding the block sooner than later anyway.

i dont think you are gettin what he is saying how much did u hone out the sleeves did u just resurface them or more and you could possible have some blowby with the motor now i think it would be best to bore .5 over or .25 if its a 81mm block and get some new pistons and im sure she will "rip" even better then befor

true true but with college its tough to really spend so much money on her. I really want a dc2 ls or gsr cuz mine is 95hatch/95gsr. so want this thing to run, and maybe sell/trade it.

u can get some oem type r os pistons pretty cheap and a bore job / head resurface isnt to costly ... save your pennys and be happy later

All he did was just get a ball hone and go up and down a couple of times till the walls were clean. Its a big hastle to take the engine out of the car etc etc. The block is still in the car.

It's always more of a hassle when you have to rebuild twice

To answer your orginal question. Acetone. Wipe down all your parts prior to assembly.
