what cams should i run. 12.5-1 b20vtec asap
hey guys i was just looking to what cams you suggest for my b20vtec... i am not looking to rev my car out to 9500 to make power... i am looking for a awsome mid range and and i mean i will probably be reving average 8700 the car is my daily really just looking for 215 i know i could do that with ctr cams... but would be happy to make 220 maybe little more i wanna run pump
currently have
b20 bottom
je 12.5c pistons eagle ls rods i will probably get a thinker head gasket cuz i have the flat valves and want to keep compression around 12.5 to run pump
acl bearings
gsr head stock port
super-tech flatfaced valves
super-tech prings and retainers
hytech replica header will probably run a 2.5 inch exhaust all the way back
but i can buy sk2 tuner 2s tomorrow.... for a pretty good price but people are saying pro1s are better all around than them.. then saw another guy say the pro1s not a bigg enough cam... just put your guys imput in thanks and also the buddy club spec IV i herd alot of good review.. hows the power band and drivin and tuning for those!

If you only want 215-220 I would run some CTR's for sure... if your going to spend the money on skunk pro2's take advantage of the power you can make. 240ish is definitely possible on pump gas with the right tuner who knows what they are doing

well i aint got the money for the pro2s!!! its the tuner 2s that i can come across pretty much trade my ctrs for them..... and i saw a pair of the buddy club spec 4s i guess the IVs and i her really good stuff.... is the pro2s have good driveability and good mid range?? let me know pros and cons of each of them cams you guys mentioned..if you have time thanks guys for the input though
cool man i found a deal on some buddy club spec IVs any one ran these i herd the make awsome power but whats the drivabilty on them and the power band?
i you want pro ones which im running in my car i can get you them brand new for 450 hit me up. im runnning same set up as you will be installed and dyno tunnd withing 2-3 weeks along with head components just a gsr not b20

i also had another questionfor you tech guys.... if i get a set of these bigger cams. will i have problems with piston to valve clearence if i install my self... cuz i dont know any one to degree them in befor i start... i will have to start at 0 0? or maybe find a suggested degree to start the tune for the cams.... :S i would hate to mess somthing up...

where you getting tuned at and what the charge on dyno time out there... ? i got a buddy here name richi that tunes but we go to another dyno across the bridge
Try obx stage 52 it's a good choice too...I dont get the idea with this thread.We have a lots of threads that already talk about camshaft selection.

dont mean to thread jack but is it hard to make 230-240ish with ctr cams stock port head.. or do u need to run a better cam?

no worries on the thred jack man that is a awsome question i may have to just use my ctr! and i just say a few people making 10more hp mid range on ctrs over the toda c's even the the peak was about 10 15 less.. but i am going for mid and tq numbers i am not the type to be a dyno queen and go for peak... everyone knows the tq is what keeps ya moving....if you can keep max tq..i think .. from what i have researched!
i was waiting for some one to ask why dont you use the "search" its just everyone set up is differnt and most people are running like a 11.5 b20 blcok or stock... and just figured i would ask thinking with the mroe compression use a bigger cam but still make the good mid range and stuff wit a bigger cam..... its my first all motor and really onlymy second.... some what semi powerfull lmotor build... so just trying to get best info possible
i can also pick of some toda c's tomorrow as of tonight got a awsome offer but i saw graphs fo ctrs making 10 more mid range and more hp in mid range but the ctrs lose after 8k... any idea's anyone? :S are toda c's any where close to the s2pro2s?
