also would anybody know if the oil sensor wire bein unplugged would keep it from running

If you mean the one on the back of the motor near the oil filter, no it will not affect how the car runs.

 

yeh thats the one i cant figure out why it wont fire

 

You check (and confirm) Fuel, and Spark yet?

 

the fuel is there but it just wont fire and i bought a dizzy so i guess something is fried but i dont know where to start

Could be a ton of things. Is it cranking? Everything hooked up right?

 

it cranks fine and gets fuel its somethin involving the dizzy a relay or something im guessing

 

And you said you replaced the diz? Cap and rotor? Spark Plugs getting spark? (obv not, right?)

 

i dont have a light tester too see if there geting power but there is no spark could it be the ecu or something

 

You can test for spark without a light tester but be careful. Also, and I've done this many times before, after installing a new distributor did you plug in to the 2 plugs that go from the harness to it?

 

I should ask these questions:

What caused the car to not want to start in the first place? Why did you replace the dizzy? Did you just change engines? Engine rebuilt? What else have tried or verified?

 

all i did was change the engine harness, i figured since it wasnt getting fire i needed a new dizzy the ecu is throwing a code but its iac or somethin like that

The IAT? Is it code 14? Yes, your engine needs to know the intake air temperature to run. That's an important piece of information for the ECU... Helps control things like idle, injectors, fuel and the such...

 

So you changed the original engine harness?
Which one did you use?

 

do u know what the wire colors are that go to the iac and i just switched out a cut si harness for one thats not cut but im havin trouble findin where some plugs go

Code 14 is for the Intake Air Control Valve on the back of your intake manifold
You should have 8-15 ohms of resistance between the terminals on the IACV and no continuity to ground.
There should be battery voltage at the 2p connector that attaches to the IACV aswell.
