Default Trans Advice

I have a 01 accord v6 everyone knows about the tranny problems yup happened to mine the tranny over revs and the transmission has also cracked pretty bad where the drain plug is.

Since im not rich i only have 2 options and i need help choosing which will be the easiest/ cheapest way go. Either just replace the auto tranny (unit price 1150) or go with a 5spd swap. I dont know too much about the manual swap
which is one of my main reasons for posting.

Keep in mind that i am not doing this swap myself it will be done at a shop.

Well doing a manual swap by a shop is going to cost you an arm and a leg. There's a lot more to it than just putting the transmission on the motor and chances are, unless it's a tuner's shop or similar, the mechanic will lose patience somewhere and something will get messed up. Also, you will have to go through the clutches, flywheels (resurfacing at the least), slave cylinders, etc. There is just more pricey services with the manuals. BUT, they are stronger than auto trannies.

a manual swap would indeed cost a lot of money, time, and pain, but once it's done it would be sooooo much better then auto. plus I think they only make 6 speeds for the J's.
