Default Modifying ksport coilovers to go lower

I have a set of ksport kontrol coilovers on my 98 integra. Is there any way to modify them to go lower? I have the lower perches spun all the way up. Then, I lowered the upper perches in the front all the way down to try to go lower but of course when I lowered the upper perches it made the car ride like ****. I heard of someone spinning off the lower tube that sits in the fork and cutting off sections of the bottom of the shock and then reattaching the tube so it can spin up higher. I am a little bit weary about doing that, I dont want to start cutting off the bottom of my shock.. Another idea I had was to open the fork and slip the shock down further into it. My friend did that with his koni/gc set up on his em1 but the ksports are thicker so I'm not sure if it is possible. Any help appreciated
