I was born a racer...grew up around racing...live racing...love racing. This 1982 picture by my favorite IMSA car shows proof! Note number 64 on the porsche, what my car # is today! I personally know Riverside raceway,I personally know Ascot park in Gardena before it got demolished...I have had hours and hours of private conversations with people like Don the snake,Arie Luyendyk and Eddie Hill. Hey,I am a So Cal car guy and have an awesome dad!
As I awoke this morning and swiped the sleep out of my eyes,I took a deep breath and couldn't help notice that ever so faint smell of hot Toyo rubber and race gas lingering in my room. With the equinox passed,I already see the days getting 1 minute longer at a time, and that brings a smile to my face as I know a few weeks away the next race season is about to begin.
With the new schedules, updated rules released and new hopes, each driver is working as we speak to better thier engine, better thier suspension, safety equipment, and most importantly with that, better themselves. Last season I learned alot as a new driver and I am humbled as I realize what it has taken to get this far.Years of dedication, patience, tons of money and time, actually only a dream at one time, has turned to reality for me.I can not explain the great fun and friendships that have come from my racing,(thanks to NASA even though sometimes we don't seem that appreciative for what our series does for us), and all this reality of growth sets in with chills, just like when I am reading the book racing in the rain.
As I prepare to tow my car to the dyno today to make that thing we all love known as horsepower, I could not help but giggle like a 5th grader because I am actually doing what I have wanted to for so long...Having fun,Enjoying life and Racing with great friends.
Damn it feels good to be a Driver!
See you all very soon

Glad I could share and stimulate a few minds.
I still am sort of in dis-belief sometimes, and each time I get in the car is like the 1st time and the 1,000th time all rolled in to one. It's like that "My baby can read" commercial where the baby's read the word on the card and display the action, synapse as it is known. As the saying goes..He who feels it,knows it.
I will close today like one of my favorites Mr. Belvedere, with another saying I live by -
"When things go wrong, as they sometimes will
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but don't you quit."
Cheers,and good evening

I have a pic of my Knight Rider big wheel somewhere around here...
Car corner balanced to perfection - Free, borrowed scales
Adjusting my diff - Free,my labor
Seeing the look on faces as I set lap records this year... Priceless !
Get you best mods from Vato Zone if you want to keep up.

LOL, when I was 17 and visiting some friends in CA I made a point of going to see Riverside before it turned into a subdivision.
Edit: Damm, now someone might figure out how old I really am.

Can't wait for the season to start. Did testing last weekend, and man I'm so rusty. First time I ever been off (no track driving) this long. Will have to go testing again soon so I don't look like a rookie on the first race of the season. Man racing is such a drug!
Justin,
You looked like a good little kid in front of that Aase Porsche.
What happened, did you fall into a Slap-Chop or a rice cooker ?

Luck? Sheesh,go collect some cans, they are all over the sides of the freeways, sell them and come race H4 already! So what if your motor is slow and your tires are old
just being out there is fun enough!
Those going to the banquet,I will see you at the Queen Mary.Polish that ROY trophy up for me,oh and the 2nd place H1 while you're at it.Fill kiwi's 1st place cup with some meat shake please.
After a nice scare and a visit to the Urologist,I feel better and now I have a refreshed outlook on life. Can't wait to see my friends again and get out to the track.
