Electrical problem while installing new Stereo
I have a 1995 Honda Accord LX and was looking to install a new stereo in the car. I removed the stock stereo and cut the wires from the existing wire adapter because I could not find a harness for the car. after using a voltage meter to find the accessory power wire and the power wire that is on all the time. I crimped those ends onto the corresponding wires for my stereo and plugged it in to see if I could get power as a test but it would not turn on. After unplugging the stereo I tested my power wires again and found that the wire that was supposed to be supplying power all the time was now only reading at 3 volts instead of 12. I'm not sure where I am losing power or if that is the problem at all.
How should I fix this, what should I try next?

you can find the adapter at any audio shop as it is a generic honda harness for like 1990-99 or so....my advice is to get the adapter and do it right...and when you say couldnt find.....did you even check if a store had it?
..........
Wal-Mart has them for $8
Meijer has them for $7
Best Buy has them for $20
and I think even Autozone carries them for $15.
Sooo.....I highly doubt you even looked. I don't even know where to begin. More than likely you hooked half of the stuff up wrong and now you have quite a few blown fuses at the very least.
What you NEED to do is to solder on the harness that you cut off and then get the wiring adapter and then see what happens.

As mentioned, there are wire harnesses all over the place for your car. Any audio shop should have them, eBay as them, any online audio store... Heck, when I used to installs for friends, I had 4 or 5 just laying around for your car alone.
Don't cut any more wires, and don't try to continue the install without the harness. Reconnect the wires you cut (soldering would be best), and buy a harness. You can get them just about anywhere.

if you really cant find one, i have an extra BNIB harness from Scosche. PM me if interested
unfortunately its gonna be a PITA now that you already cut the factory plug off. also, was the radio grounded when you attempted to turn it on?
