Would a dohc zc throttle body and a z6 intake manifold be a good idea to swap into my car over the stock Si intake manifold? Keep in mind im doing a y7/y8 mini me in a the near future with p29 pistons and im trying to avoid buying a y8 intake manifold because i do not want to spend the money.

 

Yes, it would be worth a little bit of power. The sohc vtec intake manifolds flow better than the stock D16A6 manifold. Not going to be worth 25 horsepower, but it will provide proven gains, especially in the higher RPM.

 

the OBD0 DOHC ZC throttle body will not bolt onto the D16Z6 intake manifold - different bolt pattern - the OBD0 DOHC ZC throttle body is the same as the D16A6 throttle body

 

Good point, I always forget that the obd1 throttle bodies have different bolt spacing.

 

ahh ok, i wasnt into the tear down process to see if they would match. But you guys saved me a little bit of time. So i take it the dohc zc intake mani will not bolt onto a d15 or d16 head?

 

no - completely different bolt patterns

 

use a b series throttle body ther slightly bigger u can get one cheap at a junk yard.

It will fit your d16z6 manifold too.
