my friend has a 92 civic si and when he drives around his brakes are fine but when he makes a U turn or goes into reverse his brakes give out and he has to pump them a few times to get them working again. what could be the problem?

 

Check for a leak if he have to add brake fluid you have a leak,(thats what sounds like) check the calipers front and rear if you dont see any leaks then replace the master cylinder... Oh question did you guys mess with the brakes at all??? if you guys did then could be air in the system... hope this help.

 

the fluid level is fine and no we didnt mess with the brakes. this started happening out of no where.

 

Master cylinder going bad replace it...

 

but its not leaking tho

 

is just not making pressure... dosent have to be leaking to be bad.
