Default Lowering the Seat in a 94-97 Integra

Does anyone know of a method or product to lower the seat position in a 94-97 Integra? When I have a helmet on, my head hit the roof. Does the adjustable 98-01 seat go lower than the 94-97 seat?

I can tell you that the 98-01 seats do NOT go any lower than 94-97. I wonder if ITR seats are any lower?

I need a remedy for this, too, but I do not want to change seats. Esp DelSol, because personally, I find them hideous. Custom brackets is what I'm thinking.

That is good to know. I'll also check if the ITR has a different part number for the rails and bracket. It is hard to say if the ITR is lower because the lack of a sunroof provides more head clearance.

I was looking at the part diagrams to see if the brackets can be modified.

I don't know if the bracket/rails are different on the ITR's, but it may be the seats themselves? I remember the ITR seats lacked padding and felt lower than the LS I had previous to the ITR, but I don't know. I was just fine in my old ITR with an SA2000/M helmet. Sunroof definitely adds maybe 2 inches or so, and perhaps that was all of the difference.

Any modifications will have to be custom, I'm sure. Post up what you find out or decide to do!

I want to do this for the ITR Expo X. Someone has to represent the GSRs.

Nice. I'd love to go, but they always seemed to be on the East coast. Almost made it to the one out Midwest (forgot which track) a few years ago. Have fun.

I'm 6'3". If I recline the seat so that my helmeted head clears, I have trouble reaching the steering wheel.

Easy fix, swap the rails. direct bolt on. Tada! It's only the Passenger side that doesn't bolt up directly as well. (at least that's how mine were)

My question is, how much lower do the Recaros sit than the stock GSR seats? I have Del Sols in mine and I love em but I would like to get some Recaros eventually but that's what I'm kinda scared about is how much headroom I'll have.

I want the black with Red stitch DC2 recaros, I just want to make sure I'll have enough headroom. Maybe I'll just need to get some different seats altogether when I reach that stage of my car.

According to a user named kevin1981, the S2000 seats lower the seating position. Not sure by how much.

I'd like to try and get some tan ones to match my interior.

Is an aftermarket bucket seat out of the question here? That would solve your problem and then some

the itr seat is lower than the gsr,you can also find an ls cloth and that should bring the height down some.

Fixed back race seats have safety concerns when used without added rollover protection.

This is for the 98-01 height adjustable GSR seat?

yeah, the seat has 2 levers on the side that can recline the bottom part of the seat to a very low height.

So the LS seat does not have the adjustment, like all the 94-97 and ITR seats. Hmm...

I completely disagree with what I bolded. Yes, you can raise/lower the base, but certainly not to a very low height. You really only get to choose a setting between "way too high" and "too high".

At its lowest setting, the bottom of the seat is still 4" above the floor of the car. I know its a Japanese car, and they're (on average) shorter over there, but I'm only 5'10" and can't fit in the car with a helmet on without excessive recline on the seat back.

The 94-97 and ITR seats are lower. I need lower than those.

I agree with Tunernoob. As I have already said, the height adj does nothing. I am about the sane height and I can feel the top of my hair brushing against the liner. I've got short hair, too.

Also, regarding the LS seat comment, here is what they look like:

Exact same set up as GSR's. Not sure about RS's, but I know my old 98 ITR did not have this. Just the recline lever.

But even that being the case, I doubt it will lower significantly. I'd either go modified custom brackets or aftermarket seat.

I will be looking at modifying the bracket in the next month or so. The rails cannot be lowered from what I saw. But it may be possible to redrill the seat bracket to lower where it mounts on the rails.

From looking at the part numbers, the 94-97 and ITR seats share the same seat rails and frames. The lower cushions also share the same p/n (81532-ST7-J21). There should be no height difference for the ITR seats.

From the attached part diagram, it does not look like I will be able to modify where the frame attaches to the seat rails. The frame mounts to the top of the rails.
