2002 Acura RSX
5 speed

It's part of my master plan to get out of debt I swear. No more car payment for me. Going to drive/fix this car till the wheels fall off.

The only question I have is...they only give me one key/remote. I already called the Acura dealer and they want $130 for a new key/remote/programming.

Is there a cheaper alternative? I know they sell blank keys with immobilizer built in for cheap but how do I go about making it work/program it to work with my car?

 

Doesn't seem like a very good plan considering you could've spent 3x less on an older Honda/Acura and drove it just as long.

Yea I could buy a $2k Honda but it would last as long, I bought the rsx for 8k btw.
Plus no dealer that sell $2k cars is going take my trade in that value at $21k (2010 mazdaspeed 3)

after I calculated all the savings up. I am saving $420 a month driving the rsx vs Mazda.

That is incredible. I'm going to save that amount for a few months and set it aside for maintenance for the Acura. After that it's free money for me

Keep it clean, don't start modifying it or you won't be saving money anymore lol

 

wow dude, i'm in the exact same situation.

bought new rsx
and only 1 key/remote.

call different dealers though, for me, JUST THE KEY copy, was about 60bucks at one place. Called another dealership and he said 35, so it all depends.

 

Sorry, but there really isn't any tech in this thread. You also seem to have an identical thread open anyway asking about common problems. Feel free to repost in a different area of the section like the picture thread or DC5 squad thread. No need for this one...
