just did a motor swap and wtf???
ok, i just put another motor in my car, and i know for a fact that my injectors are jacked up, but when i started it up, the rpms raised then droped, and it just does that, but the weird part is i dont have a vac. leak. do u think its my injectors?? and when i rev it up it lets out alttle puff of smoke. thanks, also its a very rough idle.
throwing any codes!? My friends car did that and it was his EAC- on back of intake manifold next to throttle body. Disconnect the plug from there and see what it does.
disconect it??? shouldnt it be conected though?? i haven't looked for any codes yet, cause i didnt have my car on for very long cause the alt. belt broke....and that clip is white right??
I had the exact same problem when I swapped out my intake manifold. It turned out that the EACV (as he said above) was bad. So (also like he said) just disconnect the wiring harness plug that goes into it. Start up the car (the check engine light will come on) and it should idle smoothly. If it dies, then unscrew the idle speed screw a little bit, then it should idle.
If it still runs like crazy, then it's something else.
The EACV only lets in more air to the intake manifold to increase/decrease idle rpms. If the eacv is disconnected, the car will hold a steady idle, but you can't really drive it around 'cuz it will go crazy on you.
Give it a try, and let us know what's up.
