car shakes when any throttle is used
while trying to drive to school today my car started shaking as i got to about 20 mph and would do so anytime i pressed on the gas at all. after this it would happen in all gears and below 20 just not bad but i can see the wheel rock back and forth. 94 prelude si
I've recently experienced a similar problem with my 96 Vtec.
At 40+mph, when I step on the gas, the front left side of my car shakes like my tires are out of balance. It's only when I gas, and it's actually not even all the time. It's like my car has to warm up to it first.
I've had the tires rotated and balanced and that fixed it for like a week and a half, then it started again, and also my emergency brake light and ABS light both came on. I took it in to get looked at and the mechanic just rotated the tires again. Now the lights seem to just flash on every now and then, but don't really stay, and the car doesn't really shake anymore, but it definitely doesn't feel as smooth as it did before all this started.
The mechanic said it could be the torque converter which is a transmission issue which they don't do.
It doesn't feel like an engine problem at all or transmission. Everything drives just fine. It feels like something with the wheels.

after you have ruled out drive shafts, and alignment problems...
If you have an h22, check to see if your balance shaft belt is broken, or missing..(little belt with teeth, in front of the timing belt)... don't know if h23 has them or not.....
another thing, maybe a cylinder is not firing, do you have a decrease in power?
visually inspect your motor mounts too
also, you might have a bent rim, (it happened to me)
a year or so ago, my front left rim was bent, and I had the same symptoms as you,
so I tried putting the bent rim on the back... drove worse, vibrated so bad I couldn't hold the wheel...
I put bent rim back on front, I guess the increased weight decreases the vibration.(?). then I got my 18's,, drives on rails
