Default Official Integra Chat Thread

There is much OT that comes up in this tech forum. This is an official thread to discuss it. This thread can be used for new user introductions, car opinions, etc.

The Integra forum specific rules are relaxed in this thread. The general Honda-tech rules are still in play.

Re-intro. Been away from DC's for a while. Had a DC4, DC231, (3 year hiatus) now a DC2. Sold an EJ7 to get it. Super clean, bone stock and 2 owners. Super stoked.

My Integra GSR is a zombie bitch from hell.

1. I bought it new (demo car). It had alrady had body work done to it..
2. I drive it for a month...The wheels get stolen.
3. A year later I pull up to a DA **** box with my stolen wheels...I had rare tires on them.
4. The guy ends up in jail.
5. The car gets stolen. It was recovered a day later after the kid who stole it got drunk and drove into three trees and a mail box.
6. Again the guy went to jail and a chop-shop was found in his garage.
7. I get home from the Army and the car gets rebuilt: New oem quarter panel, JDM ITR conversion and a door off repaint...a year later and about 18k. The car is done.
8. I deploy overseas about 3 weeks later.
9. I come home from the Army, drive the car to the body shop that fixed it...A guy who worked there backed a Toyota Seqouia into it...bye bye JDM front end.
10. The car is rebuilt...again, The body shop didnt charge me either.
11. While waiting for the Integra to get finished again. I get arrested going 130mph in my daily driver Mercedes. I lose my license for a year.

I now have the car of my dreams locked in a storage shed 20 miles away...Someday we'll be together...someday.

^^^^^ sounds like alot of bs to go through haha sorry to hear about it all. I got my first DC the middle of last year in a trade and its gotta be my favorite car so far and ive had 6 other hondas/acuras. its a 96 with a b20b4 swap and the car has only 82,000 original miles on it as i write this! I've had to do alot of maintenence work though, here is a list:

Timing belt
Water pump
Tensioner
Valve cover gasket
O2 Sensor
IAC Valve
replaced both axles
axle seal (got lucky on that, car almost locked up in gear on freeway but luckily i made it home befor all the fluid leaked out lol)
stage 2 clutch and throw out bearing
starter was the last thing i replaced after the solenoid crapped out on me.

i did all the work myself and i get lucky on the parts, i can defect alot of them and get them for free seeing as i work at car quest lol and its not shitty advance auto parts either so thats nice as well.
i got a lot of plans, like everyone else im sure haha, but living out of the house, working and trying to go to school puts alot of the plans on the backburner, but its mostly the money that holds me up. next thing planned is suspension, car rides pretty crappy cause the last owner had it on stock struts with CUT Eibach springs. please, no one cut their springs lol, my car rides like crap i wont lie. it looks damn good sittin real low but never will i do suspension like that.

imma go with kyb agx adjustable struts and H and R race springs seeing as i can get the struts through work for a good price and only have to wait a day when i order them compared to weeks if i order from somewhere else. dont wana go with coilovers, had too many headaches with em in the past. but i love the car, its verry reliable now that ive worked the bugs out and with the drivetrain all stock aside from the clutch, i think it'lll give me many worry free miles. the power can wait, if i gotta drive her every day, i want her ridin like butter first! Acs for tha win son!!

I actually didnt know how fast I was going. Lousy quiet overbuilt Mercedes...it sounded like a B18c1 at 40 in top gear.

I just covered the bottom half of my 97 GSR grill with plastic to improve morning warm up. This cold weather is not pleasant.

I'm sick and tired of the cold as well. The Integra is a garage queen for the winter and doesn't get driven much, but I'm tired of not being able to work on her!

It is a possibility. I want to ask the forum specific mods there first, as they have to monitor it. I specialize in Integras and will watch this thread.

If your teg is a "garage queen", then just get a space heater and go to work. That's what I do.

My garage is too full of $h!+ to make serious car work possible in there, unfortunately.

My garge used to be the same. Until I realized if 80% of the stuff were to be thrown away, I wouldn't even notice or miss them. So one big clean up later, I've got all kinds of space. Besides, car comes first before any of that other junk. Priorities, man. :D

The problem is we just did that LOL. The rest of the space is taken up with skis, tires, bikes, and a bench that my wife uses to grind tree samples she uses for her research and that I use to make frames for my artwork. I gotta save up some $$ anyways.

Hello, I'm new to this site... Right now I drive an 03 Nissan Sentra, but I'm in the process of trading it for a 97 Teg, if everything goes right... Anyways, I joined this site because I now have a growing interest in these cars & just wanted to check it out.
