Post 91 civic pls help

i hope to get help for my project (sorry about my name.) I have a 91 hatchback with a jdm b16a and i guess a y1 trans. 5 speed. i bought from a friend who bought it from his friend. we bought dont know what year, what car it came from. But the engine is stamped b16a and the tran stamp y1-###### anyways when i turn left or right the right front side of my car click or clunk. So i thought it was the driveshaft.(passenger side) I went to Checkers and redline to buy the driveshaft. but was alittle too long, 3/4 to an inch long. The drive shaft that I bought was for 93 integra. We also tried checking out the delsol and it was still too long. I thought a crx would help but, nope. When i tried install the axle anyways. The whole engine shifted to the driver side. Which the alteranator and the ac compressor were kissing the inner fender.

any help would be great

thanks

u should remove the problem axle and take it to the store to compare axles until you get the right one
if you have it they must still make it

any suggestion about grind in reverse. it only happens sometimes. someone told me to adjust the cable and then if that doesnt work then it could be my syncros. any opinion?

why did the whole engine shift...

reverse grind is normal operation. no syncroes the gear is just strait cut and slides into another strait cut gear but you should push the clutch down all the way and you could try readjustment of the cable if you are still unhappy

when i tried installing a 93 teg, the teg axle was an inc long. pushinf the engine to the driver side.

sorry dumb question. but when i looked at the cable on the trans i couldnt turn the rubber piece thats holding the cable. well i thought that was the adjustment. thanks for the input i can breath better knowing its not the trans.

my set up:
92-93 YS1
90 LS intermediat shaft
95 B18B1 w/95 B16A3 head
ACT stage 1 clutch w/11LB ACT flywheel
GReddy sp1
obd1 converted

thats about it power plant/drive train wise

glad to hear the axles worked for you. as far as the rear drums. i personally hate having to work with all the springs so i converted to LS rear disk brakes. also because it came off the parts car that i purchased for the first swap in my crx. but i have heard that HF rear set ups are lighter and actually work better than disk brakes mainly because of the drums having more surface area that makes contact to the drum itself. i think its somewhere along the lines of 80% comapred to disk brakes which might be somewhere along the lines of 30%? but those are just estimate numbers.

the halfshaft was your problem all along. The Y1 comes with a funky length halfshaft. I switched mine out to a 90 integra one and used 90-91 axles

thanks for the input. i bought my car 3 weeks ago. I have no clue where the engine and trans came from. so does the owner before me. trial and error was a must. but lots of people here are very helpful and knowledgeable....... does a 89 to 91 teg are the same trans? looking thru some research i guess my engine is probably a 1st gen b16a. cause it uses the cable trans. and the letters on my valve cover indicates the DOHC is written bigger than vtec. assuming thats the right one. i only have a 160 h/p. i was hoping the 170.

89 and 90 integra's do not share the same transmission.
89 integra has a D16A1 motor dohc D-series setup
90 integra has a B18A1 motor dohc B-series set up
