Default starting issues

I have a 96 accord LX, AT approx 100k.

After oil changed today, the car would not start. The motor doesn't want to turn.

I pump the gas pedal a few times and it finally started.

Is it starter, battery or fuel issue?

Also, is it normal to have some white smok from exhaust?

White smoke generally means you a re burning coolant. Check for signs of a blown head gasket: Water in the oil (can look like yoghurt), or oil in the coolant, or both.

It depends on how much white smokes comes out. If alot and heavy then its a head gasket problem. About your car not starting up I think its the battery. Starter is Still good. Accord Starters are strong and can last for a very long time!

White smoke in the super cold is normal, sounds silly but some people ask lol.

Accord starters are strong but they do fail. I had my starter completely die on my 96 honda accord. It wouldn't start at all.

The Accord (mitsuba/nippon) starters are strong, but the bushing/contact points will eventually fail (mine after 13 yrs - 130k miles)

I started having intermitten starting issue and tapping the starter on the outside with a stick would loosen the contact points and the car would start on the second try, but in the end had to remove and disassemble the starter and put in new bushings.

If the starter is not the culprit, go down the basic troubleshooting path, check if there's spark/air/fuel etc.

ive always wondered about this.

say in the morning when your car starts with white smokes and disappears in cold weather.

but say after driving 5 minutes from startup, the smoke disappears. the weather didnt change but there is no longer smoke coming out of the tail. so what does this mean? did the exhaust get cooler as the engine warms?

It's condensation burning off. When it's gone, no more smoke.
