Default Anyone still run mugen diff in their D-series?

I love my quaife in my B16 but my buddy is running FP and is still D-series and has been told that the mugen is "the only way to go" as far as a diff. Anyone still running this relic because last I heard you can't get them or the parts anymore....

I have both, Quaife and Kaaz in my EG. Love both, use them both and if I ever need them serviced, I would hope that I wouldn't have a problem.

King Motorsports still lists the ZC Mugen difff for sale. King also has a full selection of parts for the Mugen diff.

The Mugen LSD is still made. Doesn't work better than other clutch type diffs though, just cost more.

My buddy called King Motorsports and had a pretty lengthy conversation with them about it and they said everything was unavailable. I figured the zc one would fit too but they said different. I thought maybe they had different size carrier bearings or something.

Thanks for the replys guys......

I was too cheap to order a quiafe

I ran the JDM 92-95 civic d series LSD modified to fit in the 88-91 case and had no issue this was a very cheap way to get LSD. Bought the JDM trans for $400.00 and swapped the diff into a cable trans. Mismatch of bits and pieces but cheap. Ran for 2 season of abuse.

I later decided i wanted a different final drive and ordered an mfactory 4.9 which i hoped to use the same JDM LSD however bolt patterns for the ring gear are different.
So i ordered off egay an OBX dirt cheap which i abused to death with absolutely no issues
Had the case apart again and no signs of wear.

Hope this helps

If you are running the twin cam ZC with the CG transmission code you can run the same diff as in the 99-00 Si and other cars that use the same diff. It drops right in.

He wishes he was twin cam. He's single cam d16 that came stock in the 91 crx si here in the states. No twin cam honda motors allowed in FP.... at least for his car that is......

Are all/any of you guys running slicks too?
