Default JDM H22 from my Prelude sold, swap question

Hi Guys,

It's been a while since I was on Honda-Tech. Always on the Prelude section since I had a 4gen Prelude.

Since a few months my prelude is gone and I sold my JDM H22 engine to a friend of mine. He has a Accord, the EDM model between '94 and '97 (CE-08). I don't know much from the Accord, only that my OBD1 JDM H22 should fit into the Accord... Don't even know which Gen it is... Sorry for that.

I've searched for my friend and found some usefull links about swapping a JDM H22 into a Accord. But since I don't no much about the Accord, some things aren't clear to me. So I hope one of you guys can help me out.

This is his Accord:

What do I have (and have sold to my friend):

- JDM H22 OBD1 with all the usuall stuff on it (so I bought it and it was a complete swap) as you can see on the pictures
- Complete intake manifold
- All the usual brackets (Prelude/H22 brackets)
- All the sensors
- P13 ECU
- A JDM wiring harness (I used my own Prelude harness, but I don't have those anymore)
- The H22 is fitted with my old Prelude H23 tranny, so not a JDM H22 tranny
- Ofcourse it has all the pumps and stuf on it (power steering, alternator, A/C, distributor)
- He bought my H22 Prelude header (Vibrant Performance)
- So everything to fit right into a Prelude...

I'd like to know if it will be a direct fit or not? So:
- My engine is a OBD1. Is his Accord and OBD2? Will my engine work with his Accord?
- Does the H23 Prelude tranny fit on to the Accord? Or should he buy an other tranny?
- Does the engine fit with all the original (prelude) mounts on it?
- Can he use the OBD1 JDM wiring harness? Should he use is own harness and just making some wires for the Vtec? Or something different?
- Will the Accord driveshafts fit into the H23 tranny?
- I know he must use the cooling hoses from the Prelude. Will it just fit on his own radiator?

That are the things I can think of he should know before he's going to swap. If there's something else, I would be very gratefull to know.

Thx a lot!

??

Or he can just go to the Accord FAQ and read any of the like 20 listed in there with pictures.

Without seeing a picture of the interior, you could see if he has the removable ash tray below the radio and in front of the shifter. If he does you can pull that outwards (like on our US 5th gen) and the OBDII port is right there. If that isn't there then it's most likely OBDI. No getting your hands dirty and no need to even open the hood
