Default replacing the t-belt

I want to replace my own timing belt. Should I go ahead and do it, or should I let a professional do it.

I can get a shop manual, so directions shouldn't be a problem.

What tools do I need? Any power tools?

Get the Helm's first and review the steps involved. See if you have the tools and man hours to do it. Finally, decide if your confident enough to do it and not look back.

Personally, it's not too hard of an install. But, only you know what your capable of.

I have a 94rs, will a manual for 95rs do?
Have any of you done it yourself? I definitely dont feel confident but would like to learn how to do it. I've changed my own brakes/oil/sparkplugs/cap/rotor... etc.... nothing really major.
I've heard that I might need a compressor and a impact wrench to undo the pulleys, is it true?

a impact is more than likely need to take the crank pulley bolt off.its not to hard changing a tm belt, jus gonna take a few man hrs and good concentrationin and patience.the 95 manual will work. jus rememeber to look the manual over very carefully before starting.a friend would also be of good help.

I'm not doubting your ability.. but from the things you've listed you've done their all pretty basic.. if I were you I'd have a friend that has done the procedure before help you out.... buy a manual (it pays for itself when you use it on your car and fix things anyway) and study it as if you were taking a final exam until you feel confident enough to go do it....then devote a weekend since this is your first time.. make sure you have ALL the tools required or have a friend willing to help you out (that also has a car) in case you need to buy buy tools or you break tools in the middle of the job w/ your car in a million pieces...

the only person who can tell you if its "do-able" is yourself so get the manual and look over the procedure and you can pretty much see for yourself based on your skills/experience and availability of tools... impact gun would definately help in loosening the crankshaft pulley.. I know some people have done it w/ hand tools though.. breaker bar is a MUST!!!
