yea im gunna need help
So I have a d16y8. And my rpms keep going up and down when in neutral an sometimes when I'm stopped its goes all the way down to about 300 rpms almost like its going to stall. So I did some research an am guessing it is my iacv. I already changed my 02 sensors but haven't changed my spark plugs or spark plugs wires. So if you guys would happen to think its my iacv can someone please tell me how to clean it if you could provide pictures an let me know what products I would need thank you.
First check your coolant level. Low coolant can cause idle surge.
Cleaning the IAC valve is a simple as removing the 2 bolts that hold it to the manifold and cleaning the screen. You can do this without removing the coolant lines that run to it. So its a nice and easy job.
A vacume leak in the intake manifold can also cause an idle surge.
First thing to do it check the tension of your throttle cable. If it is too tight, it can act like a vacume leak.
Secondly, you can start the car and spray brake cleaner around the intake manifold. Brake cleaner is flamible and if there is a intake leak, the car will rev up when the brake clean is sprayed over the area.
